Almost exactly two years after 'Doppelleben' which highly triggered the still raging neodisco/balearic craze, Justus Kohncke delivers his third album for Kompakt. With 'Safe And Sound' Justus carries
out the disjunction of his two lives. From now on we’ll have to address the electronic discoteer Justus Kohncke and the troubadour/songwriter Kinky Justice separately. The 10 Tracks on 'Safe And
Sound' were created within the past 24 months, mostly while touring the planet both as a live act and as a DJ. The increased dancefloor impact is very perceptible. Already the album opener 'Yacht'
is tearing the door to Justus' trademark disco universe wide open with its brilliant 'Slave To The Rhythm' quotes. Three more pure disco bangers are to follow with 'Molybdan', 'Love and Dancing' and
the ecstatic 'Parage'. What's new is a certain technoid rigour, a vehemence that is new to Justus Kohncke's oeuvre. Close your eyes and imagine Cobblestone Jazz could be played by one guy alone.
But where ever Justus goes, his music never loses that soulfulness and human temperature of it.
