Isabelle Antena's album "Camino Del Sol" is an electro samba classic from 1983 (including tracks produced by John Foxx). This 12" brings you hot new remixes by Frenchman Joakim (Versatile) & Norwegian disco don Todd Terje. Joakim delivers a killer primetime track, Todd Terje takes the DJ Harvey route. Many of the big names in pop and dance music, such as Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) and the Pet Shop Boys, were inspired by this timeless masterpiece. In the 1980s, "Camino Del Sol" was also very popular in Italy's cosmic disco scene which is currently being (re-)discovered in the rest of the world. Daniele Baldelli, Mozart and Loda didn't end their DJ set without playing at least one track from the album, and the track "Camino Del Sol" was one of the biggest hits back then. Joakim turns the original into a deep and very tense electro house track which should burn down any dancefloor! He uses 100% of the original chords and harmonies plus some vocals (in the beginning and in the break). This is pure chordal magic - quality primetime material, as we say. Oslo's wonderboy Todd Terje, ruling the cosmic/nu-disco world with his recent hit "Eurodans" and his Tangoterje re-edits, comes along with a wonderful extended samba electro disco version, staying close to the original. A top class rework with its ever twisting bassline.
