Planet E invites us to bask once more in the genius of Carl Craig with this timely expanded reissue of his material under the Psyche banner. Arriving roughly one year after that superlative Paperclip People reissue, Elements 1989-1990 was originally released back in 1996 and grouped together Craig's Psyche and BFC output that had previously surfaced on labels such as Transmat and Kirk Degiorgio's Applied Rhythmic Technology. Whilst the full CD release had a hefty 12 tracks to it, the accompanying vinyl issue was pared down to just six; this new issue slips in an extra three cuts and expands the pressing across three slabs of wax. It provides a welcome opportunity for a new generation of Detroit techno enthusiasts to bask in some Craig's finest productions, such as the wonderful collage of breakbeats and life-affirming synthwork that was "Chicken Noodle Soup" or the cyber-B-Boy 808 programming of "From Beyond".
