The pedigree of the productions matches the colour too, with "Ready Set Loop" a winning mixture of pressurised 2-step rhythms and fizzed champagne synth romantics. It's the slick vocal editing that breaks up the dipping thrust which demonstrates why SBTRKT is so highly rated. Flipping the script on the B Side, "Twice Bitten" sounds like Actress expanding on the dubstep incantations of John Carpenter that ran through "Maze" - leaning on a downtrodden escapade through loose 2-step rhythms and solemn freeform melodic meanderings. Serious business!
