Soma Records celebrate the release of their two hundredth single with this collection of exclusive tracks from a selection of their key artists. The Glasgow based label Soma has been releasing quality electronic music for fifteen years now and this bicentennial compilation is a showcase for the diversity of artists they have on their roster. Martin Wheeler aka Vector Lovers contributes the album opener 'On Emley Moor', a turbo paced slice of jagged electro that maintains the evocativeness of his unique productions. With 'Looking North', Slam have created a sublime teaser to their eagerly awaited follow up to 'Year Zero'. A vintage Slam production that has already won favour with James Holden and Laurent Garnier. Alex Smoke presents a deep and compelling techno track that sucks you in from the offset. Funk D'Void has delivered 'Home'. Here he goes for the classic Funk D'Void sound with a driving, melodic techno cut that is packed with soaring strings and crystal beats. Next is the 'Mephisto Waltz' from Silicone Soul, which is exclusive to this compilation and is a tough, arpeggiated electro-house workout that will rock the dancefloor. Following on is the debut single from Mirror Music, a new production outfit that features Graeme from Silicone Soul and Craig Armstrong collaborator Dave Donaldson. 'The Redemption Of Taylor Nash' is a swirling summer anthem that echoes the quality of Silicone Soul. Next comes a new track from Repeat Repeat aka Dave Congreve and Mark Rutherford - a scuzzy, twisted techno masterpiece. The Separatists project is a collaboration between Percy X and Marco Bernardi. 'Shake You Down' is a quirky, minimal track which will dement and delight in equal measures. New signing My Robot Friend completes this anniversary collection with his ultra funky, electro-mutated rework of his 'Hot Action!' track 'I Am The Robot'.
