Moogerfooger series filter pedal
Notes: The award-winning Moog MF-101 lowpass filter is a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers. It contains 2 complete modular functions: a voltage-controlled lowpass filter and an envelope follower. It can be used with any instrument-level to line level-signal.

The Moogerfooger filter's control parameters are signal mix, cutoff frequency, resonance amount and envelope amount. All of the lowpass filter's parameters can be controlled with expression pedals or external control voltages as well as by great feeling knobs which beg to be tweaked. Panel switches select filter mode and envelope follower speed. 1/4" jacks are provided for audio input and output, pedal/control inputs and envelope follower output. A heavy-duty, yet smooth-acting bypass switch allows tabletop or foot operation.

A lowpass filter removes high frequencies from a tone. It makes the tone sound more mellow or muted. The lower the Cutoff, the more muted the tone sounds. As it is pulled down, it cuts out the higher light, then the light from the middle of the window, then finally all the light. The MF-101 lowpass filter does the same sort of thing to the sound spectrum with its Cutoff Control. As you turn up the Resonance control, the overtones near the cutoff frequency are boosted.

The envelope follower tracks the loudness contour (envelope) of a sound and produces a voltage that follows the dynamics of your playing. Every time you play a note, the envelope voltage goes up and then down. The harder you play, the higher the envelope voltage goes. The envelope follower opens and closes the lowpass filter. Think of the envelope voltage as an invisible hand that turns the cutoff knob up and down every time you play a note. Since the envelope follows the dynamics of your instrument's signal, you actually play the filter as you play your instrument.

Ring modulator
Notes: The MF-102 Ring Modulator is a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers. It contains 3 x complete modular functions: a ring modulator, a voltage-controlled carrier oscillator and voltage-controlled dual-waveform LFO. It can be used to process any instrument-level to line-level signal.

A ring modulator produces sum and difference frequencies between the audio input and a carrier oscillator. The ring modulator's LFO can be used to modulate the carrier frequency. The Moogerfooger ring modulator can create effects ranging from subtle tremolo to harmonically rich distortion, gong-like sounds, sweeps, swoops, and divebombs. It can be subtle, or outlandish in its use, you decide.

The Moogerfooger Ring Modulator's control parameters are signal mix, carrier frequency, LFO rate, and LFO amount. All of the ring modulator's parameters can be controlled by the great feeling knobs that beg to be tweaked as well as with expression pedals or external control voltages. Panel switches select LFO waveform and carrier frequency range. 1/4" jacks are provided for audio input and output, pedal/control inputs, carrier input and carrier output. The heavy-duty yet smooth acting bypass switch allows tabletop or floor use.

Imagine that the ring modulator's carrier oscillator is producing a 500 Hz sine wave, and your input signal is a 100 Hz sine wave. The ring modulator's output will be a complex waveform. You will hear 2 x pitches: 400 Hz and 600 Hz. You will not hear your original input or the carrier oscillator.

100% analog BBD based time modulation pedal with MONO & STEREO output
Notes: The MF Chorus a 100% analog BBD based time modulation pedal capable of spawning a boundless array of sonic shifting in mono or stereo output modes. Use it as an all analog Vibrato pedal or drop the Mix switch to shift into ultra-thick, swirling analog chorus. Crank the Time and Feedback controls to transform your sound into a multi-octave modulate-able slap delay with near-infinite echo trails.

TIME - Minimum position is perfect for vibrato and bright chorus, while mid position shifts the tone to a deep choral motion. At maximum position, beautiful modulated slap delay is achieved.

FEEDBACK - At low settings this control adds a slight resonance to the motion of a sound. At mid position, a more focused peak is created, and at maximum position with Time set to maximum - slap delay with beautiful echoes is achieved.

MIX - In the down position the chorus sound is open and natural. At middle position the sound becomes thick and warmth is increased. In the up position (Vibrato ) position, only the wet signal is heard.

DEPTH - Determines the amount of modulation applied to the delay time. As this control is increased, the motion transforms from subtle vibrato to chorus, and then into multi-octave time modulation.

RATE - Specifies the rate at which the LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) modulates the analog delay time. Slower settings area ideal for large classic sweeps, while faster settings create spinning, rotary and film projector effects.

EXPRESSION PEDAL INPUT- This input is assigned to the Rate control. Use it to sweep from slow shifts to chopping musical extremes. With Rate set to maximum, audio rate modulation is possible.

MONO/STEREO SWITCH- To access both outputs (in bypass), you will need to remove the bottom of the MF Chorus and set this switch to Stereo. Then use a 1/4" TRS to TS insert cable or TRS to TS splitter.

The MF Trem is an analog tremolo pedal based around a balanced modulator and Sub Audio VCO. This unique design creates a wide range of tremolo effects that are based on phase cancellation and addition. Create classic optical and hard tremolo effects that are reactive to harmonic content, or push up the depth control and shift into the beginnings of lush phasing and chorus. The variable Shape control interacts directly with Tone and Mix to craft subtle swells and gallops to rhythmic percussive, and swirling effects. An expression pedal input adds control over tremolo Speed for beautiful, hands-free swells and rotary effects.

Controls:

SHAPE- Sweeps between modulation waveshapes. Center position has a smooth rise and fall. This is great for creating optical tremolo sounds. Hard right has a hard impact followed by a smooth decline. This creates abrupt and percussive behavior that is very musical when paired with the Tone knob. Hard left has a smooth lift and abrupt drop off which creates a sound similar to a reverse effect at slower speeds and a rotary speaker at higher speeds.

SPEED- Sets the overall Tremolo rate. At slower settings the sound is swirling, lush, and transformative. As the Speed is increased the sound becomes tighter and more like a rotary speaker. The Shape and Depth controls will directly affect the perceived speed and rhythm of your Tremolo as they are increased from minimum to maximum position.

DEPTH- At minimum the tremolo effect is subtle and mostly dry. As Depth is increased more tremolo effect is blended in the mix causing phase cancellation and addition effects. At center position the sound will begin to gallop and swing. This impact on the sound varies significantly depending on Speed. At maximum position, the tremolo speed doubles and all sound is sent through the Tone control.

TONE- This control affects the Tremolo signal only leaving the dry signal untouched. At maximum, all frequencies are affected by the tremolo. As the Tone control position is decreased, the effect of the tremolo becomes more-subtle. From the mid position down, the Tone control can be used to dial in sounds that impact only low frequencies in your instrument or to shape classic rotary swirl and phase-like sounds.

EXPRESSION PEDAL INPUT:Assigned to Speed. Use it for swells and transitions between high and low settings.
