  1. Vision Of Love (Carl Craig c2 edit)
  2. Vision Of Love (Carl Craig c2 bonus edit)
Review: The speed at which Bicep have risen through the ranks is staggering. Two years ago they were bedroom bloggers; now, they're among the most hyped producers around. Here, they pop up on Kevin Saunderson's KMS label with "Vision of Love", the typically tough and wide-eyed chunk of US house revivalism that originally surfaced on their eponymous label last year. It's devilishly simple, with a few key ingredients - big piano riffage, subtle strings and booming beats - being whisked together to produce a peak time delight whilst the cheeky usage Inner City vocal samples is what has lead to it being reissued through KMS. Carl Craig edits, delivering a version that expertly teases out the piano and vocal, via a few well-placed drops and effects. It's this version that hits home hardest, but we wouldn't expect anything less.

  2. I Never Knew Love (Made In Detroit mix)
  3. I Never Knew Love (Change Up mix)
  4. Help Myself (Carl Craig remix)
Review: As one of the earliest Chez Damier cuts to see the light of day, "I Never Knew Love" is more than welcome to a reissue to reach a fresh set of ears needing schooling in the ways of true deep house. It's an all-star cast here from artists in their youth, from MK's club mix of the star title in all its unmistakable MIDI Sax-ing glory, through to Carl Craig in a breezy piano breakbeat mood that's utterly charming in its simplicity. The real pick though is the "Change Up" mix of "I Never Knew Love" with its stripped back drums and spellbinding chord-led breakdown.

  4. A 2 1/2 Step (5:28)
Review: What can be said here that has not been before about this seminal and timeless Detroit house classic? Instead of preaching to the choir, we'll just state the obvious. On this always welcome re-issue, it features the original mixes, in the form of "Can U Feel It (club vocal mix)" and "Can U Feel It (dub mix)" in all their funky, uplifting and soulful glory. But most importantly it features what was probably the most played mix of the track, out of any: Marc 'MK' Kinchen's infamous "New York Dub" with the trademark vocal cut ups, organ stabs and its infectious, swing fuelled shuffle. Legendary stuff right here!

Review: The KMS reissue programme series continues to gather momentum, focusing here on Kevin Saunderson's debut 12" under the Reese guise and a record that has inspired countless basslines over the years. First released all the way back in 1988 and Saunderson's Incognito label, this 12" has been fully remastered for 2014 ears and contains the original, dub and acapella versions of the cult classic "Just Want Another Chance" with THAT bassline sounding all the more influential. There's also a grip of five killer rhythm tools on the flip! If you don't already own this slice of Detroit techno history do not pass up this chance!

  1. One Nation (6:17)
  2. Foundation (Nihil Young remix) (7:51)
Review: He's back; the godfather (well, one of them!) of Detroit techno, Kevin Saunderson returns under his infamous E-Dancer alias for another techno anthem to add to his rather extensive list. "One Nation" features all the hallmarks of his sound: soaring, razor sharp synth leads, big breakdowns and you bet: a master Reece baseline that peers this entire hi-tech soul excursion along the whole time! On the flip, Nihil Young (yeah, we thought so too!) delivers a pretty sweet remix; this up and coming Italian producer has appeared previously on Toolroom and Moonboutique and delivers a slightly darker version but just as uplifting on this superbly executed journey track.
