  3. Can U Feel It (M.K. dub) (5:31)
  4. A 2 1/2 Step (5:28)
Review: What can be said here that has not been before about this seminal and timeless Detroit house classic? Instead of preaching to the choir, we'll just state the obvious. On this always welcome re-issue, it features the original mixes, in the form of "Can U Feel It (club vocal mix)" and "Can U Feel It (dub mix)" in all their funky, uplifting and soulful glory. But most importantly it features what was probably the most played mix of the track, out of any: Marc 'MK' Kinchen's infamous "New York Dub" with the trademark vocal cut ups, organ stabs and its infectious, swing fuelled shuffle. Legendary stuff right here!

Deep House
  1. World Of Deep (Carl Craig mix)
  2. Pump The Move (Kenny Larkin mix)
  3. Heavenly (Juan Atkins remix)
  4. The Move (D-Wynn mix)
Review: Originally dropped in 1998, Kevin Saunderson's E Dancer project is the next in line for some KMS reissue love with the original release of the Heavenly LP being spread out over two parts this time around. In the first half, we get treated to the stirring bass growl and spiritual pad work of Carl Craig as he remixes "World Of Deep" into a brooding house masterpiece. Kenny Larkin brings the most brittle drums possible on his version of "Pump The Move", hammering the box beats without ditching on pitch perfect Motor City synths. On his remix of "Heavenly" Juan Atkins is at his oddball electro best, creating a jungle of freaky sounds in which to turn out a beautiful floor rocker. That leaves it to D-Wynn to finish off by remixing "The Move" into a heavily swung funker with some seriously strung out synths.

  1. The Sound (Power remix)

  3. The Groove That Won't Stop
  4. The Groove That Won't Stop (remix)
Review: There's no shortage of quality gear for team Saunderson to mine out of the KMS archives, and so it is as we get the rave-friendly tones of "The Sound" coming to us on a fresh repress, with the "Power Remix" making all the right moves for a tried and tested party rocker, from the loose breakbeat to the cheeky samples. "Tranzister" meanwhile brings a full fat acid workout to the table, and "The Groove That Won't Stop" slows things down without letting up on the 303 action. The remix of "The Groove That Won't Stop" adds a more fluid breakbeat roll and some spiritual pad refrains into the proceedings without losing the original flavour of the track

  1. Into The Future (original mix) (5:59)
  2. Into The Future (Dantiez remix) (5:22)
Review: It really is moments like this where devoted fans of the techno sound witness a proud moment in the genre's evolution. The legendary Kevin Saunderosn returns with yet another dancefloor bomb with "Into The Future" featuring all the hallmarks of his sound which have never become tired: emotive chords, the 'Reese' bassline and tough beats that represent one of the best examples of what his fellow crusader Derrick May would describe as 'hi-tech soul'. On the flip, it's over to his son Dantiez Saunderson: who by now has followed in his father's footsteps and become a successful deejay and producer in his own right. His remix of the track goes for something more rough and dirty yet retaining all that undeniably Motor City feel throughout.

  1. One Nation (6:17)
  2. Foundation (Nihil Young remix) (7:51)
Review: He's back; the godfather (well, one of them!) of Detroit techno, Kevin Saunderson returns under his infamous E-Dancer alias for another techno anthem to add to his rather extensive list. "One Nation" features all the hallmarks of his sound: soaring, razor sharp synth leads, big breakdowns and you bet: a master Reece baseline that peers this entire hi-tech soul excursion along the whole time! On the flip, Nihil Young (yeah, we thought so too!) delivers a pretty sweet remix; this up and coming Italian producer has appeared previously on Toolroom and Moonboutique and delivers a slightly darker version but just as uplifting on this superbly executed journey track.

  2. Mood (Metaphysical mix) (4:29)
  3. Science Of Numbers (6:43)
  4. Tear Drops Of Yesterday (5:27)
Review: As examples of quintessential early Detroit techno go, this jam from Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and Chris Nazuka ranks pretty high up there, whether they were from Chicago or not. The "Optimystic Mix" of "Mood" is the winner, pulling off a more subtle hit compared to other tracks of the era, rolling and deft in the percussion, and balancing a rich palette of melodic tones that work in perfect harmony for an emotive slice of old-skool techno. The "Metaphysical Mix" lets the heart-wrenching pads and keys drift in ambient bliss, which is as worthy an alternative mix as you could wish for. "Science Of Numbers" gets into more ravey territory with its discordant stabs and flecks of acid, while "Teardrops Of Yesterday" brings the hi-tech soul to the fore with just the faintest hint of rhythm in amongst the plush notes.
