Cat: ED 18. Rel: 06 Jun 16
  1. Asymmetric (6:02)
  2. Dice (6:09)
  3. Bad Girl (6:25)
  4. Filtered Light (4:53)
Review: Mathieu Cle's Closed Paradise follows up his superb Masterworks release earlier this year with another delicate, deep and downright heady EP. This time four tracks are in the offing, each one as robust and loopy as the last; from the slippery bass slaps of "Asymmetrical" and the crowd's whoops and hollers on "Dice" right through the teasing piano and vocal echo loops on "Bad Girl" and the slower, sexier deep disco funk of "Filtered Light", Cle's understanding of DJ dynamics and dancefloor desires are as chiselled as possible... Good times guaranteed.

Love & Shake EP (red vinyl 12")
Cat: ED 13. Rel: 25 May 15
  1. Shake It Loose (7:18)
  2. House Shaker (6:27)
  3. Endless Love (6:25)
  4. Sweet Love (4:42)
Review: Arriving on a most luscious tone of red vinyl, the latest Editorial 12" comes from regular contributors Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee and will prove to be of much use to any jobbing disco selectors out there. Up first, "Shake It Loose" finds Ed and Dee teasing out a cooing vocal sample and some loving Philly strings over a bumping disco beat whilst "House Shaker" sees them really working the delay and filter effects. Down below, "Endless Love" has a sultry '80s vibe to it with some silky vocals worthy of Curtis Mayfield and the lolloping grooves of "Sweet Love" more than live up to its name.

Cat: ED 010. Rel: 01 Sep 14
  1. I've Loved It
  2. Flute
  3. Put Some Love In Your Life
  4. Little Drummer
Review: While he may have spent the last few years pursuing a deep house agenda for labels such as Bosconi and Fly By Night, Bologna-based producer Riccio earned his stripes providing high class reworks for the now legendary Super Value Edits label. Here he returns to his roots with a four-track onslaught of tasty scalpel works for Editorial. There's naturally much to admire, from the string-laden disco-funk pulse of "Put Some Love In Your Life" and dewy-eyed, near Balearic disco wooziness of "Little Drummer", to the storming, peaktime brilliance of "I've Loved It" (our pick of a strong EP) and woodwind-laden loop funk of "Flute".

Cat: ED 002. Rel: 14 Nov 11
  1. Toomy Disco - "Pushin'"
  2. Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee - "Magnificent"
  3. Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee - "Ridin'"
  4. S - "Happiness Speaks"
  5. Suonho - "And I Love You"
Review: The second drop on the fledgling Editorial imprint arrives with an even more packed line-up proffering diced up arrangements that nestle comfortably between disco and house. The Buenos Aires dwelling Romanian known simply as Toomy Disco seems to be on a weekly release schedule at the moment, and his contribution to this 12" sets the tone perfectly. "Pushin'" wraps an infectious vocal hook and guitar riff deep beneath a fully flexing disco house arrangement primed for play in the more discerning discotheques, and is complemented by a double drop of Ed Wizard and Disco Double Dee goodness. Anyone with a cursory knowledge of disco history will recognise the familiar strains of "Magnificent" whilst the delay heavy "Ridin" dares to venture where Todd Terje has done before. Suonho has the B Side to himself for two cuts that operate on a more laidback level, with the skittering beatdown Beatles cover "And I Love You" particularly fine.

Cat: ED 007. Rel: 04 Nov 13
  1. Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee - "Disco Dimension"
  2. Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee - "Sweet 2 Me"
  3. Luvless - "Deluvation"
  4. Jay West - "Now That You Know"
Review: Straight outta Chopsville, Canada comes the popular and hard-working Editorial camp with a seventh round of edit-shaped goodness for all good contemporary discotheques. Label stalwarts Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee are naturally present and correct and this time they share sides with Rose Records head honcho Luvless and Candy Dealers, the edit-specific alias of Argentinean deep house don Jay West. Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee call shot gun and lay down two sublime A Side cuts with the luxuriant and warm swagger of "Disco Dimension" complemented by the Tiger & Woods style 80's boogie-beat down hybridism of "Sweet 2 Me" which has an excellent twanging bassline. Face down Luvless heads in more explicitly house territory with the shimmering "Deluvation" which has a touch of the Lauers about it whilst a certified disco classic is chopped up by Candy Dealers on "Don't Let It Go".

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot EP (brown vinyl 12")
Cat: ED 014. Rel: 06 Jul 15
  1. Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee - "Peoples Groove" (7:53)
  2. Matt Hughes - "Sunshine" (6:11)
  3. The Owl - "Pimp Talk" (6:38)
  4. Rahaan - "Fine Feelings" (7:30)
Review: Editorial Records return with more disco infused flavours from around the world. These four nice and slow re-edits are sure fire weapons for any disco DJs crate. Ed Wizard and Disco Double Dee take on Brass Construction much like Venus did on Sunshine People 15 years ago for another nice re edit. Matt Hughes' "Sunshine" is an equally good effort; wait for the drop! "Pimp Talk" by The Owl retains the sleazy grooves of the original and Rahaan's take on fine boogie workout 'Feeling Fine' does the business, as always.
