Review:  Alain Paul and Tommy Four Seven are the two producers behind These Hidden Hands, and while we're used to hearing these two in techno-mode, this material is as frosty and diluted as you could possibly get from dance music. This new album, Vicarious Memories, is a wide-eyed collection of soundscapes propelled forwards by weighty infusions of noise and schizophrenic coldwave beats. "Dandera Light", for instance, is totally genreless and comfortable in its icy coating of bass and drums, while other like "Grelles Licht" stray completely towards the dark side, leaving only room for integration in their drones and hollow sonics. If you're looking for something driving, cinematic and expansive, then this is for you.

Review: While the name Tomorrow The Rain Will Fall Upwards may remind you of a particular Vietnam War scene in Forest Gump, don't let that put you off, the sounds here are double the pop psychedelic rock of the film. Rumoured to involve HTRK's Jonnine Standish, Brazilian singer Lucas Santanna and These Immortal Souls' Genevieve McGuckin, Wreck His Days marks the project's second release, presented again by Kiran Sande's Blackest Ever Black. A dark presence inhabits all seven tracks of this LP that should appeal to fans of Goblin, to Italian Horror and Giallo OSTs with "Reverberasia" fusing metal with ambient Italo doom. As the title suggests "Ghost From The Coast" is swathe of haunting atmospheres and coarse textures, only with an underlying bassline funk, while an eight-minute "...And I Tried So Hard" provides some sparkling respite from the forlorn sounds of everything preceding it. "I Beat As I Sleep As I Dream" then penetrates Kosmische territory, with acoustic, Latin guitars easing the tension of a devilish "Ay Carmela". Without a doubt one of the best collections of music BEB will release in 2016.

Review: As they proudly communicate on their Discogs page, Craig Clouse's Shit & Shine act are made up of a continuously fluxing collective of drummers and their "...style is hard, varied, and post-everything". That is exactly the same way that we see them, but our favourite aspect of their releases has to be the fact that we absolutely never expect what they come up with. They are a wild and surprising bunch who have injected a missing 'fun' element from experimental dance music and, whether they offer schizoid techno, weirdo house or full-blown noise, they execute their material like pros. Teardrops is their new LP and it most certainly falls under their more extravagant side; it's an album that delivers twelve raucous and unfriendly sonic experiments. The crew have conjured a deeply singular noise album because instead of relying on the same old tricks of distorting synth sounds as much as possible, they've approached this particular release from a doom metal perspective. This is proper nose bleed gear, and if you're of the sensitive disposition then this might be a little explicit for your tastes. We fucking love it.
