  1. Worries In Da Dance (5:14)
  2. Fire (5:10)
  3. Massiv (4:28)
  4. Himalaya (5:41)
Review: Unpredictable arrangements, loose-legged drums, a clear passion for roots reggae and jungle: Dutch dream-smasher Coco Bryce is the real deal... As is his label Myor Massiv. Four releases deep (two this week with Kid Lib's 12" dropping concurrently), each one blazed with authentic early 90s breakbeats, Bryce's outing is no exception. From the detailed drum edits and stern tones of "Worries In Da Dance" to the breezy, airy floatiness of "Himalaya", Bryce delivers some serious gold right here. Limited edition, purple gold that is.

  1. White Flag VIP (4:32)
  2. Arcadia (feat Metrik) (3:09)
Review: Switching a lighter raising ballad with the energy and gusto of a sugar-high kid at Christmas, Delta Heavy's "White Flag VIP" has been anticipated since Andy C started teasing it around his Alexandra Palace show. Already loaded with feels, the new double time drums add even more emotion and euphoria. Flip for an out-and-out electrical fire as they team up with Metrik for a balls-out, peak time slap session. Excruciatingly good.

  2. More Than Ever (6:05)
  3. Still The Same (6:04)
  4. Snowdrops (6:26)
Review: The man like Freddie Dixon gets his soulful floaty flex on once again with four delicious slabs of rolling liquid moments. "Heart Of Gold" shimmers and sparkles with the help of Roisin Brophy who laces the sonic swoons with her soft-focus touch. "More Than Ever" is a deeper jaunt with cheeky flautist flurries and mild guitar twangs buried deep in the textures. "Still The Same" takes us back to the mid 2000s with lush filtered twists and a more stripped back kick/sub arrangement while "Snowdrops" packs a cool jazzy punch for the finale. Irresistible.

  1. Test Your Might (4:58)
  2. Yeah-Uh! (6:12)
  3. Step Off (The Poison Flower) (5:16)
  4. Falling (5:39)
Review: Northern muffin muncher Kid Lib makes his debut on Dutch freakybeat rave imprint Myor Massiv. It's a perfect fit; Lib's drum wizardry licking up all manner of shots with sudden stop/starts, electric edits and vibes so authentically jungle you can smell the crystals. "Test Your Might" pitches the snares to such degrees you'll swear you're having a conversation with them, "Yeah-Uh!" takes on more of a classic rave vibe with some cool halftime space and elephantine subs, "Step Off" is pure, unadulterated drum magic while "Falling" does that floaty cascading trippy thing that jungle has needed to create its still matchless equilibrium.

Lopez/Syuss & Reality (limited 12")
Cat: 8205 003. Rel: 30 May 16
  1. Lopez - "Beyond Fear" (8:26)
  2. Syuss & Reality - "Missing Link" (6:28)
Review: Fans of Hessle Audio's weekly show on Rinse should be familiar with Cambridge, Massachusetts-based label 8205, with founder Pete DevNull making a recent standout guest appearance - do seek out the podcast!! To the uninitiated, 8205 is DevNull's outlet for putting his encyclopaedic knowledge of '90s era jungle and hardcore to good use with irregular vinyl and digital reissues of previously unheard productions. Paydirt is most certainly hit upon for this third 8205 transmission with a '97 era jungle cut from Lopez backed up by a collaboration between Syuss and Reality. Up top, "Beyond Fear" bristles with the sort of atmosphere that was rife in jungle at the time and its no surprise it was a secret weapon for the likes of Bukem and Subject 13. Only ever aired in abridged form on a Japanese import mix CD by Subject 13, 8205 score the full release of this deep cut some 19 years on. On the flip, Syuss and Reality's 1995 track "Missing Link" is stripped back jungle that hits you square in the gut with how futuristic it still sounds some two decades on.

90s (12")
Cat: METHPLA 020. Rel: 30 May 16
  1. 90s (5:27)
  2. Memories Of You (5:50)
  3. Pache (5:48)
Review: Nolige is power: heritage heavyweight SB81 takes us back to the source with three ravishingly rusty breakbeat slammers. "90s" captures the hardcore trajectory into jungle perfectly with its wall-of-sound style drums and menacing basses beneath. "Memories Of You" whisks us a little further down the decade when Alex Reece reminded us of the sunshine. Finally "Pache" provides a whiplash dash back to 91 with embittered hoover stabs, more broad-shouldered breaks and iced out atmospherics. Nostalgia is power.

Flatline (12")
Cat: RAMM 218. Rel: 30 May 16
  1. Flatline (original) (4:10)
  2. Flatline (Nu:Logic remix) (4:31)
Review: Wilkinson gets his sample flex on with a big horn-coated seasonal roller. Joined by Wretch 32, the balance of early 2000s liquid soul is kept in check with his well-paced, spacious narration. As with previous Wilkinson heaters, this has potential to soundtrack the summer for many. For a deeper twist flip for Nu:Logic's twist where we're whisked away on a future-focused slink-out and an extended halftime drop provides ace space for Wretch's yarn. Expertly played.

  29. Unreal - "Enduro" (feat SPY)
  30. Keeno - "Eos"
  31. SPY - "What The Future Holds" (Etherwood remix)
Review: Following Etherwood and Fred V & Grafix, S.P.Y is the next to step up to the "Hospital Mixtape" series with a walloping 31-track mix of which almost half has never been released before. As you'd expect from the bazillion dollar Brazilian, the range is wide with tendencies to gully. Essential exclusives you'd be an absolute madman not to check include his deep-swing twist on Digital's seminal "Deadline", the insane sub bass slipperiness on Random Movement's incredible "In Space No One Can Hear You Funk" and the "Up All Night" style late 90s slap down with his brother Unreal "Enduro". A proper mix and a previously unobtainable selection that's yours for the taking... What's not to love here?
