Cat: 581390 Rel: 28 Jul 14

B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order
Notes: *** B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order ***

There are not many modern synthesizers which can claim to have shaped the sound of music -- from electronica to soundtrack -- as much as the Virus line of synthesizers has. The Virus is known as much for its flexibility and powerful sound as for Total Integration, our award winning way to interconnect a hardware synthesizer with your DAW.

The first Virus was released in 1997 and each new iteration has added more features more powerful hardware, and greater musical potential. That evolution explains why the Virus TI series is so sought after and why it receives such praise from owners, press, and fans all over the world.

Artists including Depeche Mode, Madonna, Linkin Park and The Prodigy tour with a Virus-based setup. Producers such as Sasha, Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez and Dr. Dre consider the Virus a core part of their studios. Composers such as Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, John Powell and Mark Isham are enthusiastic Virus users, utilising its signature sound for their Hollywood blockbuster soundtracks.

The Virus TI line of synthesizers includes 4 different variations: two keyboard models and two desktop versions. The great news is that all of these instruments produce the same award-winning sound. In this way, Access offer you a choice of formats without compromising the most important aspect of any instrument: how well it performs musically.

Designed as the ideal companion to any DJ or project studio, this 37-key model is not only compact but also stunningly beautiful. The side panels are a mix of wood and pure aluminium, while the white LEDs add class and style. The sound engine is exactly that used in the powerful and versatile TI Desktop and Keyboard models.

Even though the Virus is truly multi-talented instrument with great range, you still instantly know it when you hear a it in a production. That's because Access really "get" synthesizer basics: outstanding oscillators, amazing filters and breathtaking effects.

Every part, even in multi-mode, comes with its own chain of independent effects (including reverb and delay). The massive voice count makes it possible to stack even complex sounds for the first time without breaking a sweat.

ARP Odyssey Duophonic Analog Synthesizer (Rev.3, black & orange)
 Add to cart
 2 in stock $870.99
Cat: 561414 Rel: 09 Mar 15

37 key duophonic analog keyboard synthesizer with 2 voices of polyphony & dedicated hard case included
Notes: ***Buy a new Arp Odyssey from Juno before 31st January 2016 & fill out the claim form to reveive a FREE Korg SQ1 Step Sequencer! (contact customer service for further information)***

The ARP Odyssey was an analog synthesizer originally produced in 1972 by the American manufacturer ARP Instruments, Inc. that quickly garnered a faithful following among musicians. Well respected for its high value, ease to play and portability, the ARP Odyssey had undergone several improvements during its history and continued to be a long-seller until manufacturing stopped in 1981 due to economic hardships and the digital surge. Loved by a wide range of musicians as a historical classic, its sound can be heard on numerous classic songs.

Now in 2015, KORG has brought back the ARP Odyssey for today. With the advisory assistance of David Friend, the co-founder of ARP Instruments, KORG has completely reproduced the original circuitry for artists looking to recreate classic sounds and explore new ones. Together the engineers at KORG and Arp were able to nail the sound and feel of the original. Every detail has been carefully considered to stay true to the quality of the original, down to the sophisticated semi-hard case.

The legendary ARP sound is loved to this day. Long stopped, the wheels of history have again begun to move.

The original ARP Odyssey was a 2VCO duo-phonic instrument. Its most distinctive feature was its sharp, penetrating sound and its rich range of tonal variation. With a variety of functions and modulation possibilities provided by oscillator sync, sample & hold, pulse width modulation, high-pass filter, two types of envelope generator, and pitch bend using the PPC, it was able to create a versatile range of sounds.

The ARP Odyssey reproduces the sounds of these components at the circuit level. Under the supervision of David Friend, parts were carefully selected and every detail was adjusted to replicate the original unit's distinctive synthesis.

Broadly speaking, there were three versions of the original ARP Odyssey, divided by the date of production, with the major difference being the filter circuit. The ARP Odyssey provides all three of these different filter circuits, and allows you to select one of them with a single switch.

TYPE I (Rev1) is a 12 dB/Oct circuit that produces a sharp, punchy sound. TYPE II (Rev2) is a 24 dB/Oct filter with great-sounding lows. TYPE III (Rev3) maintains excellent stability even when resonance is raised. These distinctive filters have been reproduced just as they originally were.

On the original ARP Odyssey, the behavior of portamento when using the transpose function differed between Rev1 and Rev2/3. The ARP Odyssey reproduces both of these behaviors and lets you select the desired one with a switch.

The ARP Odyssey has been downsized to 86% of the original ARP Odyssey. Carefully selected parts are used in the familiar slider section, providing an operating feel that's even smoother than the original. The keyboard uses a 37-note slim keyboard that features lighter weight and excellent playability. While making the instrument more compact and easier to use, we have also paid attention to ensuring that the mini-keyboard is uncompromisingly "playable." Although the keyboard has 37 keys, the transpose function lets it cover a broad range of seven octaves.

In order to deliver a more powerful analog sound, a DRIVE switch is provided as a new function. Turning this switch on makes the VCA distort, generating a rough and raw sound.

The connectors provided on the original ARP Odyssey differed by production date, but based on Rev3 of the original, the ARP Odyssey brings the specifications up to a modern standard. In addition to a MIDI IN connector and USB-MIDI port, we've added a headphone jack with adjustable volume (*). The XLR output jacks which had been unbalanced have been changed to noise-resistant balanced outputs.

Quarter-inch and mini-size patch cables are included. If you connect a patch cable from the newly added headphone jack to the external audio input jack, you can produce a powerful sound by applying self-feedback. If you connect the GATE OUT jack to the TRIG IN jack, the EG won't be retriggered, allowing you to play legato.

A dedicated semi-hard case that's ideal for storage and transportation is included. It sports the classical ARP logo, and has a sophisticated finish in a black tone. The corrugated shell structure ensures excellent impact resistance, and internal cushioning and pocket for small items is also provided.

Bleep Labs Thingamagoop 3000 Synthesizer
e-mail me when released
coming soon $TBA
Cat: 594945 Rel: 30 May 16
Notes: After almost two years of development, the next Thingamgoop is here with all new sounds and effects modes.

Simple controls give you access to rich and diverse sounds, from simple square and triangles waves to complex FM laser battles.

The SELECT button allows the three knobs to select and adjust modes easily.
Hold it down, turn it to the mode you want and let go. The knob is now adjusting that mode.

The BLEEP button activates the sounds. It can be momentary or latched (SELECT + BLEEP to change).

LEDacle waveforms can be smoothly shaped using the SELECT button. Ramp to triangle to saw, pulse width of square, and glide for random.

Five FX modes add even more sonic ridiculousness.
Square and sine Amplitude modulation - Tremolo to Tune in Tokyo.
Rate reduction - Smooth adjustment from a little buzzy to completely destroyed.
Low pass filter - Two pole filter with a slight resonance.
Delay - Microseconds to ~1 second of delay with a tape like response.

Patches:
Most use bandlimited wavetable synthesis to provide clean sounds while still retaining harmonic richness.
Square, triangle and saw waves - Adjusting them brings in up to 4 octave of sub oscillators.
Detuned saw. Control over distance between two voices
Triangle with LFO - Four voices modulate each other in different ways.
Sine AM+FM - Four voices interact while adjusting this patch.
Vowels - Vintage digital vocal samples morph with the adjust knob. SAY IT.
Noise - Pink, white, and Hypnotoad.

The eye switch allows the photosensitive eyeball to change either the frequency of the sound, the patch adjust, or the fx adjust. When patch or fx is selected, that knob become the frequency control.

The USB jack allows the device to act as a USB MIDI device and can be used to reprogram it from the Arduino IDE.
In the future we'll be releasing new code as well as guides to make your own noises!

Use the device like a monosynth by plugging in a keyboard or sequence the frequency, modulators and much more by plugging it into a DAW.

The volume knob on the left controls the speaker and audio out volume and turns the device on and off.

When something is plugged into the audio input, the patch knob becomes the input mode selector.
AM square and sine - higher frequency that the effect.
Granular sample - Captures a tiny piece of incoming audio and uses it for wavetable synthesis.
Glitch shift - Change the pitch of the incoming sample. Adjustment for grain size.
FFT sine reconstruction - The input signal goes through a 256 bank FFT. The highest frequencies are then synthesized as sine wave. Adjustment for decay.
FFT AM - The original signal is multiplied by the sines with interesting results.

Notes: The Dave Smith Instruments Prophet '08 Pot Edition 8-voice analog synthesizer offers an alternative with 38 of the 52 front panel parameters controlled by pots (potentiometers); rotary encoders are still used for the remainder of the controls.

The Dave Smith Instruments Prophet '08 Pot Edition is exactly the same as the non-pot version. The difference is strictly in the controls themselves. Encoders are endless, they have no minimum or maximum limit. The advantage to that is that when you edit a preset parameter, the change begins at the preset value and increases or decreases, depending upon the direction turned.

Pots typically have about 270- of travel and have definite limits. The advantage to that is that you know, by feel, where the minimum and maximum limits are and you can sweep through the entire value range in less than one full turn.

The Prophet '08 PE features 3 edit modes for the pots: Relative, Passthru, and Jump. In relative mode, the value change is relative to the preset value. In passthru mode, turning the pot has no effect until after the edited value equals the preset value (that is, until the edited value passes through the stored value). Jump mode uses an absolute value based upon the position of the pot when edited; turn a pot and the value jumps immediately from the stored value to the edited value.

coming soon $TBA
Cat: 618330 Rel: 01 Sep 16

Desktop version of the Dave Smith Instruments/Tom Oberheim OB6 polyphonic synthesizer
Notes: Classic Oberheim Sound - Made Portable:
The OB-6 desktop module is just as powerful and easy to use as its counterpart, the OB-6 Keyboard. The module has all of the same controls as the keyboard version and provides the same immediacy and ease of use. As with the OB-6 Keyboard, all parameters are at your fingertips, with full-sized knobs and switches and a comfortable, intuitive layout.

How does it sound? Massive - just like the keyboard, because on the inside, it's exactly the same. The same analog signal path with discrete VCOs and VCFs. The same high-quality digital effects. The same classic Oberheim sound that has been earning raves from musicians around the world.

We've also added a poly chain feature so that any two OB-6s can be paired for twelve-voice polyphony!

Two Legends. One Instrument:
Both the OB-6 desktop module and OB-6 keyboard are a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between the two most influential designers in poly synth history, Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim. The OB-6 takes the classic bold Tom Oberheim sound - with its true voltage-controlled oscillators, 2-pole filter, and amplifiers - and adds modern enhancements such as studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and more. No other modern analog poly synth can boast such a pedigree or such a massive, in-your-face sonic signature.

Vintage SEM Tone:
The OB-6 sound engine is inspired by Tom's original SEM, the core of his acclaimed 4-voice and 8- voice synthesizers. It features two discrete voltage-controlled oscillators (plus sub-oscillator) per voice with continuously variable waveshapes (sawtooth and variable-width pulse, plus a triangle wave on oscillator 2). The classic Oberheim-inspired 2-pole, state-variable, resonant filter provides low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch functionality. Voltage-controlled amplifiers complete the all-analog signal path.

Dual Effects:
The dual effects section provides studio-quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus, flangers, and faithful recreations of Tom's original phase shifter and ring modulator. While the effects themselves are digital, with 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution, a true bypass maintains a full analog signal path.

X-Mod and Poly Step Sequencing:
Also present is X-Mod, which expands the tonal palette and makes it easy to create dramatic and unconventional sounds. Modulation sources are filter envelope and oscillator 2, both with bi-polar control. Destinations include oscillator 1 frequency, oscillator 1 shape, oscillator 1 pulse width, filter cutoff, and filter mode. The polyphonic step sequencer allows up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. You can create sequences polyphonically, with rests, and sync to an external MIDI clock. The full-featured arpeggiator can be synced to external MIDI clock as well. Unison mode features configurable voice count (1-6 voices), chord memory, and key modes.

Easy to Program:
The knob-per-function front panel puts virtually all OB-6 functions at your fingertips. Included are 500 permanent factory programs and 500 rewritable user programs. Turning on the Manual button enables live panel mode, in which the sound of the OB-6 switches to its current front panel settings. In this state, what you see is what you hear.

Easy to Play:
This analog powerhouse is packed into a desktop module that's small enough to fit in a backpack. It's an ideal combination of portability and power for the project studio or the gigging musician.

Doepfer Dark Energy 2 Analog Monophonic Synthesizer
 Add to cart
 8 in stock $362.63
Cat: 474931 Rel: 19 Nov 12

A monophonic stand-alone synthesizer with USB and MIDI interface
Notes: The Dark Energy II is a monophonic stand-alone synthesizer with USB and MIDI interface. The sound generation and all modulation sources are 100% analog, only the USB/MIDI interface contains digital components. The Dark Energy is built into a rugged black metal case with wooden side plates. High quality potentiometers with metal shafts are used and each potentiometer, except the filter mode control, is fixed to the case (no wobbly shafts and knobs). The distance between the controls is a bit wider compared to A-100 modules and knobs with vintage look are used.

VCO:

Sawtooth based VCO core
Manual tune control (with an internal jumper the range can be set to ~ +/-1 half an octave or ~ +/-2.5 octaves)
Range switch -1 / 0 / +1 octave
FM (frequency modulation) control with modulation source switch (LFO1 / off / ADSR)
Manual pulsewidth control for rectangle waveform
PWM control with modulation source switch (LFO2 / off / ADSR)
Waveform switch (sawtooth / off / clipped/inverted sawtooth)
The sum of the waveform chosen by this switch and the rectangle is fed into the VCF (to turn the rectangle off the PW control has to be set fully CCW)
External CV input for VCO frequency (1V/octave)
External CV input for external PWM of the rectangle
Internal CV input for frequency (1V/octave) connected to the CV1 output of the built-in USB/Midi interface
Because of the pure analog circuit and the temperature control it may take up to 30 minutes until the VCO is in tune.

VCF:

12dB multimode filter with lowpass, notch, highpass and bandpass
Mode control for continuous transition from lowpass via notch to highpass and along to bandpass
Manual frequency control
Tracking switch half - off - full (internally connected to the external frequency CV input of the VCO, i.e. the VCF tracks to the VCO if the switch is set to half or full position)
Exponential frequency modulation control (XFM) with modulation source switch (LFO2 / off / ADSR), the XFM control has polarizer function, i.e. the modulation source (LFO2 or ADSR) selected by the Source switch may affect the filter frequency in a positive (right half of the control range) or negative way (left half of the control range)
Manual resonance control (up to self oscillation)
External audio input (this signal is added to the VCO signal)
External CV input for filter frequency
1V/octave tracking for usage of the VCF as a sine wave oscillator over a few octaves (not as precise as the VCO and not temperature compensated, but much better than most of the other filters)

VCA:

Manual amplitude control (initial gain)
AM (amplitude modulation) control with modulation source switch (LFO1 / off / ADSR)
External CV input for VCA amplitude
Exponential scale.

LFO1 and LFO2:

Manual frequency control
Waveform switch (triangle / off / rectangle)
Range switch (low, audio, medium)
LED display (dual green/red color for positive/negative share of the signal)
The LFO1 signal is available as an additional socket (to use the LFO1 signal for external modules)
An internal jumper can be used to select between the LFO1 signal or the inverted LFO1 signal.

ADSR:

Manual controls for Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release
Range switch (long, short, medium)
Blue LED display
ADSR signal is available as an additional socket (to use the ADSR signal for external modules)
External Gate input (normalled via switching contact of the socket to the Gate output of the built-in USB/Midi interface)

USB/MIDI-interface:

MIDI channel and reference note are adjusted by means of a learn button and LED at the rear panel. The interface generates the gate signal that controls the envelope generator and 3 x analog control voltages: CV1 is used to control the pitch of the VCO, CV2 the VCF frequency (free assignable Midi controller) and CV3 is available as an additional socket at the rear panel (controlled by volume/velocity). It can be patched e.g. to the VCA control input.

The 3 x CVs and the gate signal are also available at the rear panel as jack sockets cascading of several units via internal MIDI O/I connection, because of shortage of space the unit has no MIDI output socket available this connection has to be established internally, for this the metal case has a hole on both sides so that the MIDI O/I connection can be made via this hole provided that both units are mounted to one another, the MIDI output has thru function with one exception: the signal does not include the MIDI note messages that have been processed already, consequently polyphonic cascading (all daisy-chained Dark Energies on the same MIDI channel) or monophonic cascading (different MIDI channels) is possible, it's possible to connect only the first unit to USB and pass on the MIDI data via the internal MIDI link to other devices.

Single track, step-based digital sequencer - ideal for controlling XS semi-modular synthesizer & other analog CV/Gate or MIDI synthesizers
Notes: The Orb is an easy to use, single track, step-based digital sequencer, ideal for controlling our XS semi-modular synthesizer as well as other analog CV/Gate or MIDI synthesizers. The Orb is also a perfect solution for controlling 303 clones which often lack the essential sequencer.

Based on our highly successful Revolution concept, the Orb provides an intuitive interface that we feel most accurately represents the principles of time and music. From ancient sundials to modern day analog clocks, time has been represented as the circle, a cycle which never ends. For time itself is nothing more than our perception of the revolution of planets as they journey through their celestial orbit. It is this motion that we call time that can be measured, divided, and arranged to provide the foundation of music. This circular cyclic theme can furthermore be found throughout music in everything from song structure and repeating rhythms to the fundamentals of sound itself, being the sine wave. With this understanding we must conclude that music is cyclic and should so be represented in its natural form.

Continuing our tradition of hand building quality products, this sleek compact unit is housed in a rugged aluminium chassis with a high contrast white on gun metal grey finish for superior viewing of controls in dark environments, and bright blue LEDs all around. New spherical switches allow quick selection of multiple steps by sweeping through the surface of step keys.

Let's start with the sequencer....

As you can see, the sequencer's interface is circular, which provides several benefits over the traditional linear-style step sequencers. Visually, it is easier to divide a measure of music into equal parts. The circular interface also provides a more intuitive way of displaying patterns playing as cyclic loops, either forwards or reverse, and will help you better understand the underlying geometric symmetries used throughout our Remixing process. This design also allows the user to carry out all sequencing functions with a single hand.

There are 256 recordable patterns available, each recording note duration, pitch, accent, glide, loop point, time signature, and swing amount. Pattern editing features include copy/paste, pattern shifting, pattern transposing, multiple pattern cueing for chaining patterns together live, and LED chase. In addition, all pattern editing and recording can be done while the sequencer is running, and it will automatically save all your edits so you don't have to stop creating!

The Orb also provides the ability to play patterns forwards or backwards, as well as remotely select patterns to play using MIDI program change messages.

There are 16 songs to arrange the patterns in, each recording its tempo, the bank/pattern for each step, the transposition of each step, and the song's loop point. Each of the 16 songs can contain up to 3,580 measures, and multiple songs may be chained together so they play sequentially.

In addition, the Orb provides our unique Remix feature which gives 256 variations for every pattern and song, for more than 65,000 possible patterns right out of the box. Whether you're improvising during a live set, creating variations for other parts of a song, or simply have a case of writer's block, our Remix feature is sure to inspire you and speed up your creative process.

Future Retro XS Semi Modular Analog Synthesizer
 Add to cart
 1 in stock $1,018.88
Cat: 618625 Rel: 01 Aug 16

Semi-modular analog synthesizer with versatile design for use as rackmount or desktop instrument
Notes: The XS is a true semi-modular analog synthesizer with a universe of sonic possibilities just waiting to be discovered. Our versatile design allows it to be used as either a rackmount or desktop instrument, and its compact size makes it ideal for musicians on the go.

In its simplest form, the XS is an extremely powerful monophonic synthesizer including 46 controls with internal signal routings pre-wired to allow the unit to act similarly to traditional synthesizers. The unit also provides 7 inputs and 11 outputs that can be connected in various ways to override the pre-wired signal routings, interface the unit with other instruments in a modular fashion, and even process external audio.

The XS can be controlled by both MIDI and CV/Gate control signals simultaneously in a variety of ways. It can also act as a MIDI to CV/Gate converter with outputs, including CV/Gate/Mod Wheel/Velocity signals for controlling other analog instruments.

With a single unit you can easily create basslines, leads, drones, percussion, and sound effects. Connect multiple units together to form larger systems and the possibilities are endless.

The XS provides 2 ultra stable, wide range voltage-controlled oscillators, each capable of covering a range of 0.5 Hz to 100 kHz. Oscillator A generates saw and square waveforms. Oscillator B generates sine, triangle, saw, pulse width/square waveforms, and its own sub oscillator waveform, which can be 1/2, 1/4, or 1/8 the frequency of the main waveform. The pulse width shape of Oscillator B can be set manually or modulated with an internal or external control voltage, and Oscillator B can also sync its frequency to Oscillator A. Each oscillator can be frequency-modulated independently by both internal and external signals to create more complex waveforms. The XS also provides a white noise source and ring modulator that can be used on the internal oscillators or an external source. Dedicated outputs are provided for the waveform select controls A, B, and C.

A dedicated LFO generates triangle, saw, square, and random waveforms to modulate internal parameters, or external circuits as well with its dedicated output. The LFO can act in a free-running mode, or sync its rate to divisions of an external MIDI clock. When synced to an external MIDI clock, the LFO can be used to generate analog clock signals at various synced rates for stepping analog sequencers or arpeggiators in time with modern sequencers.

The mixer section sets the levels of the oscillator waveforms, sub oscillator waveforms, white noise source, ring modulator, or any external audio signal to be sent to the input of the filter.

The 2-pole multimode filter provides 4 filter types, including lowpass, bandpass, highpass, and notch settings, each capable of covering a range from 5 Hz to 18 kHz. With high resonance settings, the filter will self-oscillate, allowing it to act as an additional audio source. The cutoff frequency can be modulated by both internal and external signals, and the filter's input and output can be overdriven independently, giving it unique tone characteristics. A dedicated output for the filter is also provided.

The XS includes our unique Velocity-sensitive ADSR type envelope with additional attack and decay time settings for accented envelopes. It's like having two envelopes in one, and it's capable of some truly funky sounds. This is the main modulation envelope internally routed to the modify the oscillators and filter. The envelope can be triggered by internal or external logic signals. Both normal and inverted polarity envelopes are available at the output.

And finally, a voltage-controlled amplifier is provided to process the amplitude of signals. The amplifier normally affects the filter's output but it can also be used to process external audio signals. The amplifier has its own dedicated envelope with four selectable shapes, Velocity-sensitive amplitude, and independent accent times. The amplifier also has a volume control for attenuating signals sent to the main output.

A universal power supply is included, allowing the unit to be used in all countries.

Future Retro Zillion Algorithmic MIDI Sequencer
 Add to cart
 1 in stock $303.47
Cat: 618631 Rel: 01 Aug 16

Single track algorithmic MIDI sequencer with 16 modes of operation
Notes: The Zillion is a single track algorithmic MIDI sequencer based on the principles of the Triadex Muse. The Muse used counters and a shift register to generate more than a million musical melodies.

The Zillion expands on these ideas to add more features and functionality, providing a zillion possibilities for you to discover.

There are 16 operating modes. These include Playback, Tempo, Swing, Direction, Loop, Transpose, Scale, Scale Program, Melody, Rhythm, Velocity, Theme, Shift Register, MIDI OUT, MIDI IN, and Sync.

Playback:
The Playback mode allows you to Stop, Start, Restart, Pause, and Manually Step through a sequence.

Tempo:
The Tempo mode allows you to set the rate the sequence will play back at. The tempo can range from 25-250 BPM. Four hot keys allow you to set and instantly jump from one tempo to another, or can also be changed gradually.

Swing:
Swing adds a human feel by delaying the start of every other note by a set percentage. The swing range is from 50-75%. Four hot keys allow you to set and instantly jump from one swing value to another, or can also be changed gradually.

Direction:
Four consecutive directions can be entered to determine if the internal counters will increment or decrement, causing a pattern to play forwards or backwards each time a loop point is reached.

Loop:
A loop point will cause the internal counters to reset, limiting the number of steps a pattern will play before repeating. The loop point can range from 1-16 beats, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, or 64 bars, or can also be set to free-running. Four hot keys allow you to set and instantly jump from one point to another, or can also be changed gradually..

Transpose:
Sequences can be transposed by up to 36 semitones within the Transpose mode. Four hot keys allow you to set and instantly jump from one transpose value to another, or can also be changed gradually..

Scale:
There are 99 Scales that determine what notes the sequencer can generate. Scales 1-16 are presets, while scales 17-99 are user definable. Four hot keys allow you to set and instantly jump from one scale to another, or can also be gradually changed.

Scale Program:
User scales can be programmed with the Zillion's front panel controls, or using any MIDI controller keyboard. Each scale holds eight pitch values. You can also think of these scales as simple 8-step sequences that can then be "remixed" by the sequencer algorithms. A global transpose feature is also included in this mode, where any MIDI controller keyboard can be used to transpose sequences.

Melody:
In the Melody mode you can select up to four sources to determine the melody being generated. These sources include counters, shift register outputs, or can also be set simply on or off.

Rhythm
In the Rhythm mode you can select up to two sources to determine the rhythm being generated. These sources include counters, shift register outputs, or can also be set simply on or off. Rhythms generated will include note-off, note-on (50% duration), note-on (100% duration), or 32nd notes. In addition, there is a Rhythm Density value ranging from 0-255. This parameter determines how complex or full the rhythm will be. There are also 3 possible GateTypes to further determine what types of rhythms are generated.

Velocity:
In the Velocity mode you can select up to four sources to determine a velocity pattern being generated. These sources include counters, shift register outputs, or can also be set simply on or off. This can be a useful parameter for controlling various aspects in an external sound module by simply setting velocity to control that parameter... such as filter cut-off, or VCA amplitude.

Theme:
In the Theme mode you can select up to four sources to determine the theme being generated. These sources include counters, shift register outputs, or can also be set simply on or off. The Theme is what feeds the input of the 32bit shift register. And since sources of the Theme can be outputs of the Shift Register, feedback occurs and the algorithm can take on a life of its own. In addition, when the Melody, Rhythm, or Velocity use the Shift Register as a source, any changes made to the Theme will then affect all parts relying on the Shift Register making for some interesting interactions.

Shift Register:
The Shift Register is a 32bit logic source for the Melody, Rhythm, Velocity, and Theme. In addition, there are 36 parity types available to determine how logic from the Theme will be passed on to the input of the Shift Register.

Kilpatrick Audio Carbon Sequencer & Performance System
e-mail me when released
coming soon $TBA
Notes: Sequencer, performance control system and USB interface:

Ever since the K4815 Pattern Generator module was released to great praise in 2010 we have been planning a follow-up product that would take the Pattern Generator concept to a whole new level. After five years of planning and exploration we are proud to present: CARBON
CARBON offers several distinct and powerful functions that will change the way you compose and perform.

Sequencer:
CARBON is primarily designed as a pattern-based sequencer. It has six tracks which can each hold 64 steps. Steps can be generated randomly, edited interactively, or recorded from a MIDI keyboard one step at a time, or in realtime while the sequencer is running. Polyphony and CC recording is supported so each step can contain chords or other performance data.
The fun begins once you've got some notes playing back on a track. Choose a region to play back, say, the first 8 steps. The track will play those same 8 steps over and over. Now move to another track and record a new sequence. This sequence can be a different length, or play back at a different speed. It can even play backwards while the other sequence plays forwards.

Remix with Patterns and Scenes!
The real power of CARBON is how variations of sequences can be made. By simply turning the PATTERN control, different steps in the sequence can be enabled and disabled. The patterns will surprise and inspire you by creating new rhythms and motifs with a simple twist of a knob. These are all based on your original sequence and can be changed at any time.
Adding in the concept of scenes lets you quickly switch between different parts of a song or different variations. Scenes can store the range of steps to play, the pattern, track mute state and a number of other parameters. Switching back and forth between scenes offers endless performance potential without ever missing a beat.
The best part of the CARBON sequencer is that all the recording and editing can be done in real-time without ever stopping the sequencer.

Performance Powerhouse:
Do you fire up your DAW software in the studio to simply route MIDI signals from your keyboard controller to various instruments? Creating a session just to route MIDI is clunky and slow, and on stage requiring a computer can be a liability. The LIVE button allows live playing to any combination of outputs.

MIDI Switching / Routing System:
CARBON is a complete performance switching system allowing you to easily send your keyboard signal to MIDI and analog instruments. Two built-in MIDI outputs enable separate routing of clock and channel signals from each track. The analog section supports four CV/gate outputs plus reset and clock signals. Both monophonic and duo/polyphonic output types are supported. You can even send to multiple MIDI and analog instruments at the same time!

Keyboard Split:
Does your favourite keyboard controller lack a keyboard split function? It's never been easier to send MIDI where you want it. Send your left hand to one instrument and your right to another, or two others if you want. Quickly switch back to a single instrument across the entire keyboard at the touch of a button.

Arpeggiator:
A good arpeggiator has been the holy grail electronic performers for decades. CARBON has a powerful internal arpeggiator which supports all the standard arp types plus loads more. Each of the six tracks in CARBON has a separate arp so you can make serious harmonic madness!
When the sequence is running the arp automatically syncs to the sequencer. When it's stopped the arp starts as soon as you press a key. Intelligent reload arp programming allows you time to change chords without losing a step.

USB MIDI Host:
Want to use a USB controller that lacks MIDI output ports? No problem! CARBON has a built-in USB host interface that will power your class-compliant MIDI device and allow you to use it to control CARBON or send MIDI or CV/gate signals to any device. You no longer need a computer or other dedicated box to use your favourite USB MIDI controller.

USB to MIDI and CV Interface:
Need to use your computer for bigger compositions? Don't worry, you don't have to disconnect CARBON. When plugged into a PC or Mac, CARBON becomes a powerful MIDI and CV interface. Use the control surface to run your DAW software. The display can also be controlled via MIDI. (open spec - future software / plugins required)
All your instruments connected to the MIDI and analog CV ports can be used directly from your DAW software. The analog clock and reset outputs can also be used to drive analog clock-based gear from your DAW.

Korg Electribe EMX2 Music Production Station (blue version)
e-mail me when released
coming soon $409.75
Cat: 620852 Rel: 01 Aug 16

New version of the classic Electribe music production workstation with Ableton Live Lite software
Notes: The electribe has been reborn including KORG's latest technology distilled from popular products such as the KingKORG, kaossilator, kaoss pad, and taktile. The 200 preset patterns cover House and Techno as well as cutting-edge dance music genres such as Trap and EDM. Another major evolution of the new electribe is support for polyphonic playback, which is indispensable for musical styles that involve complex chord progressions such as House music.

Using the 16 pads placed on the front of the unit, you can create patterns intuitively while actually hearing and seeing the sounds. You can use the pads as a keyboard to realtime-record phrases, and also perform step recording by entering the pitch and rhythmic value one note at a time. The patterns you create can be used in alternate forms as you perform by taking advantage of the "step jump" feature inherited from the volca series, or by changing the "last step" to vary the length of each part.

There's also a "motion sequence" function that lets you record knob and button operations and use them in the pattern that you create. Either drums or synths can now be assigned to each of the 16 parts (i.e., the 16 pads). For example you could create complex rhythms by assigning drums to all of the 16 parts.

Familiar from the kaossilator is the "touch scale" function that lets anyone perform without wrong notes, just by moving a finger across the touch pad. The trigger pads that were popular on the taktile are also provided, making it easy for anyone to create phrases intuitively. The trigger pads can also be used for drum input. Settings allow you to switch velocity on/off.

For the electribe, KORG designed a synth engine that gives you the maximum sound-creating freedom and the fastest sound production. The 409 oscillator waveforms include analog modeling and PCM. The analog modeling synth engine provides a broad variety ranging from simple basic waveforms to complex combinations such as dual, unison, sync, ring modulation, and cross modulation. The PCM sound engine provides mainly rhythm sounds, but also covers multisamples for keyboard. (collaborations with Sample Magic, Loopmasters, Prime Loops are included)

The filters at the heart of the sound-shaping capabilities are inherited directly from the KingKORG, and they use filter algorithms that simulate standard synthesizers so that you can get "the sound" which was used in famous songs, just by selecting the appropriate filter type.

You can also apply filters to drums to create rhythm tracks that are rich in tonal variation. Modulation can make sound-creation more complicated, but we've made it easy by condensing it down to three parameters: simply select a template that specifies an effect and its target, and then adjust the speed and depth of the effect to suit your taste.

The new electribe provides effects such as compression and overdrive for each part, giving you uncompromising control over the nuances of individual sounds that differ subtly between genres. The groove function can be specified for each part, letting you apply a groove to your phrase simply by selecting a template.

The master effects can be controlled from the touch pad just like on the kaoss pad, and they include not only spatial-type effects that shape the overall acoustics but they also include effects that apply aggressively musical transformations such as the "Vinyl Break" effect inherited from the Kaoss pad series, and the newly developed "Seq Reverse" and "Odd Stepper" that change the playback order of the sequencer. These are also extremely effective for live performance. Insert effects can be assigned for individual parts, opening up even more complex sound-design possibilities. There's also a "pattern set" function which lets you switch patterns by pressing trigger pads, and an "event recording" function that records that performance. In addition to MIDI IN/OUT, "Sync IN/OUT" is also provided, allowing synchronized performances with the volca series, monotribe, or MS-20 mini. The unit can run on six AA batteries, so you can easily take it along with you and perform anywhere, providing on-the-go inspiration your musical ideas.

Cat: 620853 Rel: 01 Aug 16

Professional music production station for stage or studio use, including 16 "step-sequencer-style" pads and a large touch pad
Notes: The electribe series lets you play back your carefully constructed patterns while using intuitive operations to add spice and reveal new sonic possibilities. Approximately ten years after the Electribe SX first went on sale, there's now a new sampler in the electribe series that's designed to be simple and easy for the beginner to understand, and even more enjoyable for previous electribe users.

The electribe perfectly fulfills two tasks that both demand speed: live performance and music production

The electribe sampler has been reborn with cutting-edge technology inherited from popular KORG products such as the KingKORG, kaossilator, kaoss pad, and taktile. The internal memory lets you save 250 patterns, including preset patterns which are perfect for today's dance music scene. There's also support for the polyphonic playback that's indispensable for styles that include complex chord progressions, such as House music.

KORG created a synth engine for the electribe sampler that's perfectly designed to maximize your creativity.

In addition to a sampler sound engine that lets you use your own unique and original sounds (samples), there are also several types of analog modeling sound engines that are great for creating synth basses and pad sounds. There can be up to a total of 999 preset and user samples, and a maximum of 270 seconds of sampling time (calculated as monaural) can be used. The unit is shipped with numerous drum, rhythm/phrase loops, and hit samples included. (collaborations with Sample Magic, Loopmasters, Prime Loops are included)

Modulation can make sound-creation more complicated, but we've made it easy by condensing it down to three parameters: simply select a template that specifies an effect and its target, and then adjust the speed and depth of the effect to suit your taste.

The "Time Slice" function detects attacks within the phrase and slices it appropriately, allowing you to play the phrase at the desired tempo without significantly affecting the sound. Sounds within a sliced part can also be used separately by assigning them to steps or parts. You can even apply an effect to a sample, and then resample it while using the knobs to vary the pitch or modulation.

The new electribe sampler provides effects such as compression and overdrive for each part, giving you uncompromising control over the nuances of individual sounds that differ subtly between genres.

The new microKORG delivers the quality sounds and features you expect from Korg at a price that will astound you.

The microKORG boasts the same dual-oscillator DSP synthesis engine found in Korg's critically acclaimed MS2000 and offers a wider selection of waveforms than any other modeled synth. Oscillator 1 features a total of 71 waveforms. These include traditional analog waves like saw, pulse, sine and noise, plus more unique choices like Vox wave and cross wave. Together they provide a cool selection that can be modulated to produce an extensive range of timbres. In addition, 64 exclusive DWGS waveforms from Korg's classic DW-8000 enable the microKORG to reproduce a broad collection of imitative sounds. Sounds like bells, electric pianos, guitars, basses and more that would be difficult reproduce on an analog synthesizer. You can also apply Ring and Sync modulation from Oscillator 2 to create the kind of complex timbres that are the true sign of an advanced synthesizer.

4 filter modes are available, offering -12 dB (2-pole) low pass, high pass and band pass configurations plus an extra steep -24 dB (4-pole) low pass setting. All include resonance. 2 classic ADSR envelope generators and two MIDI-syncable LFOs provide the power to shape your sounds. Add a virtual patch matrix that lets you create advanced modulation settings U routing the mod wheel to control filter cutoff or pulse width, using an LFO to control panning or amp level, etc. U and you have performance that is unheard of from a synthesizer in this price range.

The microKORG includes an 8-band vocoder with many advanced features. You can capture and freeze the formants of your voice, and then play it across the keyboard, or shift the formant frequency to make your voice sound male, female, like a child or just plain wacky! Best of all, the microKORG comes with its own microphone so you can start having fun right away.

3 types of modulation effects (chorus/flanger, phaser, ensemble), 3 types of delay effects (stereo, cross, L/R) and a 2-band equalizer add the finishing touch to the microKORG. The delays can be synchronized with the arpeggiator or to an external MIDI clock U a great feature for live performances or for laying down tracks. All effects can be edited to create your own, unique sounds.

Korg have used all of the microKORG's synthesis power in the creation of 128 great-sounding presets. They cover a wide range of the latest musical styles plus many vintage favorites. Notes: State-of-the-art analog modeling and multi-band vocoding are finally available in a compact, portable instrument. With 37 keys and 128 user-rewritable programs, the microKORG synthesizer/vocoder is perfect for the performer, producer, computer musician or beginner looking for an affordable synthesizer.

Sixteen vocoder Programs are also included. The pitch bend wheel, modulation wheel and 5 other knobs provide flexible realtime control over filter cutoff, attack, release and other important parameters. The edit mode allows you to fully edit the existing sounds, or to create your own new ones.

Keyboard synthesizer
Notes: Vintage and more.

With its unmistakably unique exterior and its inimitable sound, the microKorg set the standard for analog modeling synthesizers. The year 2008 saw the introduction of the microKorg XL, which inherited the microKorg's fat and powerful sounds, while adding keyboard staples such as electric piano and the CX-3 organ. And now, in the next evolutionary step, the microKorg XL+ delivers a fresh update to the sounds and design of the microKorg XL, making it the ideal compact keyboard.

The microKORG XL featured a sound selector that lets you choose your sound using 2 large dials: music genre and instrument category. The new microKORG XL+ offers an additional selection of these music genres to fit today's fast-moving music scene. Now you can select a program that matches your song more intuitively than ever. For even more convenience, you can also leave one of the dials fixed and only use the other dial to make program changes during a song (music genre fixed), or use the dial to select vocoder variations (instrument category fixed).

Lush analog modeled synthesizer sounds that are characteristic of the microKORG have been freshly added to the microKORG XL+. In addition, for band use, the microKORG XL+ comes equipped with the piano sound from Korg's classic stage piano, the SGproX (famous for its ability to stand out in your band's mix), as well as its hard-edged grand-type electric piano. This compact package also includes sounds from the M1 and the VOX organ, vintage tape-type string and flute machines, as well as other gorgeous sounds from keyboard history. Each of these 128 programs are genuinely usable sounds, giving the microKORG XL+ plenty of variety to serve as your main keyboard or of course as a secondary keyboard in your rig.

The microKORG XL+ projects a style that's reminiscent of vintage electric pianos, featuring a futuristic yet retro design with a stylish black panel. High-quality parts such as metal levers, dials that move with an audible click, and knobs with a sturdy operating feel are some of the ways that the microKORG XL+ outclasses other instruments in its range and enhances your experience editing synthesizer sounds.

The microKORG XL+'s sound engine uses MMT (Multiple Modeling Technology), borrowing from Korg's well proven wealth of analog modeling technology. The MMT sound engine has been featured on numerous products, and provides 2 oscillators that generate huge powerful sounds. Oscillator 1 (OSC1) gives you a total of 7 types of oscillator algorithm to choose from, including formant waveforms such as human voice, and PCM/DWGS waveforms for vintage keyboard and strings. It also lets you use techniques that cannot be imitated on typical PCM synthesizers, such as cross modulation, unison, and VPM (Variable Phase Modulation). By taking advantage of modulation (sync or ring) with oscillator 2 (OSC2), it's easy to create complex and powerful sounds.

The microKORG XL+ can function as a powerful vocoder that lets you connect a mic and use its audio input to shape the tonal character of the oscillator's sound to create talking effects. The vocoder consists of a 16-band filter bank that can simulate the vocoder sounds of the past and also shift the filter frequencies (Format Shift function) or adjust the level and pan of each band to dramatically change the sonic character. Using the Vocoder is an easy way to add sounds that can be found in today's popular electronic music. Since a gooseneck microphone is included, you can immediately start using thevocoder in your songs.

2 master effects utilize the effect engine that was brought to perfection in Korg's Kaoss Pad series, giving you a total of 17 powerful effect types including delay and echo effects as well as dramatic effects such as ring modulator and grain shifter. In addition, effects such as delay can be synchronized to MIDI clock for a wide range of possibilities in live performance.

Analogue ribbon portable synthesizer with delay effects
Notes: A good delay was an essential part of the classic analog synthesizer sound. More often than not, that delay came from a tape-style echo machine until affordable digital delays were created. The Monotron Delay is an analog synthesizer optimized for sound effects. In addition to its analog oscillator, filter and LFO, it also provides a space delay that's indispensible for swooping, cosmic sounds. The monotron Delay even reproduces the pitch changes that occur when you vary the delay time, just as though you were using an analog tape echo. This fat and warm delay will add an authentic edge to your analog sounds.

It also features Korg's class VCF filter for full control over your sounds. The distinctive tone of an analog filter (VCF) can dramatically alter and enrich the sound. The Monotron Delay uses the same highly acclaimed VCF circuit as Korg's classic MS-10 and MS-20 semi modular synthesizers. Originally released over 30 years ago, these instruments are still coveted today for their aggressive, dynamic filters. The VCF Cutoff knob sets the frequency or tone of the filter; the VCF Peak knob adds emphasis. A powerful filter is an essential aspect of any analog synthesizer, applying dramatic tonal changes to the sound, and projecting an intense personality that will stand out in any live performance.

Create classic sounding analogue tape delays to add warms and new dimensions to your synth sounds. Also included is Korg's fantastic enhanced ribbon controller keyboard, while a mini jack input also allows you to run any external audio, such as a Kaossilator, digital piano or guitar, through the Monotron Duo. As standard, the Monotron range comes with a powerful built-in speakers and is battery operated for the ultimate portable experience.

The Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) waveform used to modulate the pitch now offers a choice of waveshapes, which is a new square wave plus the traditional triangle wave. Both the rate (speed) and the intensity (depth) can be adjusted independently. In addition, a trimpot on the back panel can continuously adjust the shape/direction of the triangle wave or the pulse-width of the square wave to deliver even more versatility. Used in conjunction with the delay, the LFO can create dazzling effects and provide unique possibilities for embellishing your songs.

The Monotron Delay's ribbon controller keyboard features a wide, 4-octave range. This design allows the pitch to be controlled even more aggressively and dynamically, making the Monotron Delay a great weapon for a DJ to get the floor moving with irresistible sound. The reversed white keys and body adornments glows under black light illumination, making the monotron Delay ideal for delivering a striking visual impact in nearly any club environment.

The input jack (AUX input) built into the Monotron Delay's compact body allow you to place any audio source into the Monotron Delay's signal path, directly before the analog filter and delay circuit. This provides a great way to connect a Kaossilator, a guitar, or a digital audio player to the Monotron and enjoy tone-bending filter and delay effect.

A miniature speaker is built into the Monotron Delay. Along with the battery operation and compact size, this feature allows you to enjoy the share the Monotron Delay's analog synthesis sound with your friends, anywhere, at any time. There's also a headphone output that you can use when practicing in private, creating sounds at home, recording, or for connecting to an amplifier or PA system.

A resurrection of the original 80's RK100 with all new modern features
Notes: It grabbed your attention on stage and never let go.A Keyboardist's performance tool that was both smart and sleek. Music may change with the times, but style and performance endure. Introducing the re-imagined KORG RK-100S
A keyboard that sets you free to perform

Appearing in 1984, the RK-100 remote keyboard broke the chains of keyboardists, setting them free to perform as they liked. With a stylish body available in four colors, it allowed the keyboard player to challenge the vocalist or guitarist for the main role on stage.

Now, thirty years later, the RK has been resurrected. Although beautiful curved surfaces have been added, the essence of the original and very popular design is unchanged. What had been a somewhat large and heavy body has been made more compact and lightweight thanks to modern components such as a slim keyboard. While the original required an external sound module, the new RK-100S contains a built-in analog modeling sound generator.

New features and functions include two ribbon controllers, an arpeggiator, and a vocoder, and there are also "favorite" buttons that allow you to register frequently-used sounds for one-touch selection. The RK-100S is your choice for smarter, more active, and more enjoyable performance.

The attraction of the RK lies in its beautiful body. The carefully made wooden body consciously reflects the design of a guitar, projecting a timeless coolness that creates varying impressions depending on your angle of view, and featuring a new and elegantly curvaceous design. It's available in three colours: red, black, and white. Each color is painted with a gorgeous glossy finish that will draw all eyes on stage.

The RK-100S provides a built-in sound engine that was not found on the original RK, meaning that you can perform simply by connecting an audio cable.

Its MMT sound engine provides not only the standard analog synthesizer waveforms such as sawtooth and square, but also additional oscillator algorithms such as formant waveforms, noise, and PCM, which power two hundred programs for a broad range of sounds that will cover any musical genre. These sounds can also be played using the arpeggiator.

The keyboard of the RK-100S uses the 37-note slim keyboard also featured on the MS-20 mini. This allows the overall unit to be more compact and lightweight. MS-20 mini-style keys provide the perfect balance between size and playability.

Since the RK-100S is designed for active playing styles, it features two ribbon controllers: a short ribbon on the neck that can be manipulated with the left hand, and a long ribbon located in front of the keyboard that gives you a wide range of performance possibilities. The long ribbon controller can be used instead of the keyboard to play a freely specified range of pitches and scales, and can also be used to control the pitch or filter in dramatic ways.

Since the RK-100S will operate on easily obtainable alkaline AA batteries or rechargeable nickel-metal hydride AA batteries, you can enjoy performing anywhere simply by plugging in a set of headphones or by connecting it to your amp with a standard cable. By using an AC adapter, you can play at home for as long as you like without being concerned with battery life, and use the PC editor to create your own sounds.
