  1. Funky Truck (6:49)
  2. Form Of Life (6:47)
  3. Verdict (7:42)
Review: Tomoki Tamura and Tuccillo continue their partnership on this self-titled label that has already reached its sixth installment in just two years. The vibes are as wide-ranging and addictive as ever, providing all manner of housey delights for spinners to get their fingers busy with. "Funky Truck" is certainly the lead track on the EP in every way, holding down an impeccable shuffle and working a cool and deadly bassline towards a memorable lead line for a true slice of dancefloor alchemy. "Form Of Life" takes a more dreamy approach with its hazy chord stabs and gently rolling beat, and then "Verdict" rounds the EP off with a more tech-house minded jam to get shoulders shaking aplenty.

Review: German hipster imprint Kitjen is up to its sixth release following up greta ones by Suzanne Kraft, Hotel Lauer and Shit Robot. In the label themselves this is is 'the tropical cruise ship experience of the summer' brought to you by Amsterdam duo Beesmunt Soundsystem. Watch an umbrella appear in your glass as you play these four neon-lit retro house cuts! Start sending automated out of office replies by simply scanning the cover with your mobile device! Another great quote from the label 'This record's official dress code is 'cannabis farmer at court hearing".

  3. 003.3 (7:55)
  4. 003.4 (7:41)
Review: Sometime Brachtune and Polen man Andu Simion is the latest producer to join the Atipic revolution. The Romanian producer is in fine form throughout, beginning with the typically tech-tinged deep house dreaminess of "003.1". The track that follows, predictably titled "003.2", is a little more spacey in feel, with Simion expertly combining trademark Motor City techno sounds with a bustling, bass-heavy tech-house rhythm. Flip the record and you'll find the rubbery, Chicago-influenced bounce of "003.3" and the pleasingly eccentric "003.4", where quirky vocal samples, fluttering synth lines and a wiggly bassline cluster around an electro-influenced machine groove.

Review: Brassica is a trusted staple in the field of outboard house and techno, from time served on labels as esteemed as Dissident and Civil Music through to more recent outings on Feel My Bicep and others. Here The UK producer has been snapped up by Vivod for four tracks of deep analogue house and electro to warm the cockles a treat. "Coco Diaz" is a tightly wound jam that hinges on a broken beat, while "Splash" opens out into a blissful melancholic reverie. "Nothing To Say" amps up the sleaze and the acid a treat before "Blue Function" heads into more trippy soundtrack territory.

  2. First Found (7:21)
Review: While establishing the Fit Sound imprint affiliated with the Detroit distro outlet of the same name , Aaron 'Fit' Siegel has been careful not to load the imprint with too many of his own productions, choosing instead to deliver material from Marcellus Pittman, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, MGUN and Dungeon Acid. Here he makes a welcome return with two tracks of melodious, atmospheric, Motor City deepness. "Carmine" is particularly alluring, with twinkling melodies winding their way around yearning pads, bittersweet chords and shuffling, cymbal-heavy percussion. "First Found" is a little more forthright, with off-key pianos and scattergun electronics riding a tougher, locked-in groove.

  3. Senor Tommorrow (11:08)
Review: Studio Mody as we all know now is the alias of Vancouver's Hashman Deejay of Mood Hut and here he inaugurates new London label Counter 99, run by Going Good co-founder Salik. Starting off with the tough vintage house of "Tracking Down The House" which is dusty and warm as you like it, before "1017" (feat L EFA - remix) delves deep into the exotic with its hypnotic tabla drumming over celestial synths allowing you to drift far far away. On the flip the classic house sensibilities of "Senor Tommorrow" close out this fine EP in real style.

  4. Babesonite (5:20)
Review: District of Columbia-based deep house imprint Better Listen has barely put a foot wrong since launching late last year. Predictably, their latest missive, which comes courtesy of rising star Dorsi Plantar, is another beauty. Title track "Everlast" opens proceedings via jazzy, jammed-out pino riffs, dewy-eyed electronic flourishes and dusty deep house beats, before "You're Solid as Fuck" re-focuses attention on a chopped-and-looped deep house/jazz-funk fusion. Flip to the B-side for the grandiose orchestration of disco-house pumper "Fool's Gold" and the near-Balearic sweetness of sun-soaked chunky house closer "Babesonite", which comes on like a disco-house enthusiast's tribute to Pepe Bradock's "Deep Burnt".

  3. Do You Like It (6:16)
Review: Second time around for Glenn Underground's '70s Trip, which first surfaced on Cajual Records way back in 1997. The title track, a hypnotic and mind-altering, bassline-driven peak-time smasher peppered with intergalactic noises, vibraphone style solos and darting synths, remains one of the long-serving producer's finest moments. The lesser-celebrated original B-sides are pretty darn tasty, too. Choose between the bumping deep house jazziness of "Disco Moog" - where spacey synth stabs dance all night with jaunty pianos and another killer bassline - and the rubbery bounce of "Do You Like It", which makes hay with cut-up, scat style vocal samples, dewy-eyed Rhodes chords and some more fizzing synth lines.

  4. Guide To Action (5:03)
Review: If the melodious, deep and dreamy breakbeat/analogue house fusions showcased on Guide To Action sound like the work of noted Canadian producer Project Pablo, it's with good reason. He co-produced the EP alongside old friend Francis Latreille, jamming out melodies, beats and chord progressions with the help of an MPC, Moog Source, and a bunch of old synthesizers. The result is an EP of rare positivity. Check, for example, the loved-up goodness of "Crusade Mix", the Raze-does-Mood Hut dreaminess of "All My Love Is Free", and the punchy breaks, winding synth solos and stretched-out pads of blissful opener "Empathy Mix". Those heading for deep space should also cop the hazy, dubbed-out, ambient-informed Balearica of closer "Guide To Action".

  3. Replete - "Legislate" (feat Bini) (6:35)
  4. Sameed - "Someone Like U" (6:43)
Review: Sample-based, hip-hop influenced house label Ele returns with a second missive. This time round, there's a trio of artists at the controls, namely Manchester man Contours, GAMM and Local Talk regular Sameed, and the previously unheard Replete. The latter's "Legislate", a loose, languid, jazz-flecked chunk of sunshine deep house warmth featuring the suave vocals of Bini, is arguably the EP's standout moment - though it is pushed all the way by the crunchy drums, meandering electric piano solos and head-in-the-clouds dustiness of Sameed's "Someone Like U". The breezy, synth-heavy Balearic house breeziness of Contours' "Night Shift" and the drowsy, cut-up house thrust of "Rush", created by a producer who wishes to remain nameless, complete a fine package.

  3. Slap Bass (6:15)
Review: Last September, we praised Audri's debut EP for Yay, describing the previously unheralded producer's brand of techno as being "loose and heartfelt". On this follow-up for Imprints, he's slightly switched focus, offering up a troi of tracks that tiptoe the fine line between Detroit style techno futurism and melodious deep house. The quiet positivity of his first outing is present throughout, from the undulating synth-bass, hybrid electro-techno drums and intergalactic electronics of opener "Tune", to the enveloping, head-in-the-clouds deep house bliss of closer "Slapbass". In between, you'll find the jauntier, noisier flex of "Hips".

Review: Having previously only appeared on WotNot Music in the past couple of years, K15 now slides over to Wild Oats to deliver a wholly appropriate slab of fluttering house romanticism rich in Detroit dreams and Chicago cheekiness, wherever the music might have been conceived. The cheekiness is no doubt most noticeable on "GWRH" with its homage to "Gypsy Woman", turning it into a fluttering Latino house jam, but before that comes the plush bump n rub of "The Story Of Her Life". "Insecurities" gets into a sexier kind of deep house funk, which "Gratitude" dutifully carries on until "Yellow" can round the record out with some largely beatless piano business.

Review: It would be fair to say that both of Denis Sulta's 12" singles on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams are "in-demand", commanding surprising prices online. It's likely that this first outing on Numbers - a single-track salvo pressed in limited quantities - will go the same way. It's typically of his analogue-rich, retro-futurist sound, with starry, Detroit-influenced synth lines and intergalactic melodies riding a virtual wave of drum machine hits and skittish cymbals. It feels like an early '90s British experiment in fusing the best of house and techno, but that's no bad thing. It's certainly bristling with late night positivity.

Review: Helpfully, there's little information about the mysterious artist - or artists - behind this first, four-track missive on the Decent International imprint. Musically, though, there's much to admire - not least the anonymous producer's penchant for combining Ugandan, Liberian and Ghanaian percussion with vintage drum machine hits and humid electronics. While there are some more purist offerings - see the looped indigenous samples, trademark guitars and fluid percussion of "Leaving You", and horn-heavy, vocal rich "When Koaa" - it's the more adventurous offerings that really hit the spot. Both "Uganda Futura 1" and "Uganda Futura 2" are delightfully out-there, pairing original African rhythms with the far-sighted electronics of Motor City techno - it's just a shame they both last no longer than 2 and a half minutes.

Review: Romanian imprint Why So Seris have previously served up great work by homegrown heroes such as Nu Zau, Lumieux, Sublee and Lizz so it is quite a surprise that Irishman Derek Carr makes his mark on Why So Series 004. Known by the label as a prolific and outstanding producer when it comes to dancefloor oriented techno and tech house influenced tracks, they are more than happy to present Derek's Liquid industries EP. Starting off with the loopy and hypnotic deep house of "Theta" he then gets stuck into some vintage hi-tech soul on the energetic Solar Storm". On the flip, "Sub System 7" follows in suit channelling the vibe of greats like Aril Brikha while "Exodus II" gives you your fix of sunny swing fuelled tech house in the vein of iO Mulen or Zendid.

Review: Lemmy Ashton made quite a splash with his first outing on his own TNC label last year, and now he's back to follow up with another salvo of premium heaters geared towards disco-friendly dancers. There's a chunky, looped up quality to "Silver Suitcase" with its insistent bass lick and slamming drums, but there's equal space for soul thanks to the string-loaded sample hook. By way of contrast "Lunaire" fires up the acid flare and heads straight into a babbling brook of 303-related goodness. "Amsterdam" rounds the EP off on a stomp, whipping up the kind of bombastic disco drama that would get Studio 54 moving were it in action today.

Review: The latest Glenn Underground record to get the reissue treatment could hardly be described as one of his best known. Originally, this double A-side excursion slipped out as a white label, promo-only affair way back in 2010, and has since become sought after amongst deep house collectors. It's easy to see why the original is such an in demand record, though; the 11-minute A-side "Moog Vibrations", in which the Chicago veteran jams with his Moog over a typically warm and loose deep house groove, is little less than superb. Flipside "Urban Flight To Atiner 7", a cosmic deep house excursion peppered with guitar style solos, stretched-out organ chords and bustling acid lines, is almost as good.

Review: Mosaic continues its fruitful split series with three producers that fit into the mould of Steve O'Sullivan's label perfectly. Dean Decosta comes on restrained and refined on "Recon", taking a laid back approach with gravelly dub techno chords billowing over a cool-headed house beat. Bobby O'Donnell gets even smoother as his own take on deepest house uses gently undulating keys to impart a meditative vibe anyone can get lost in. Sean Dixon then heads further out with some spacey chords that reverberate and chime around a minimalist beat for a true head tripper of a track.

Review: It would be fair to say that Mr Fingers 2016 is something of an event release, at least for those who love deep house. While Larry Heard has kept busy - largely with remixes and reissues - this marks the first 12" release under his most famous moniker for over a decade. He begins in contemplative mood, fusing tumbling music box melodies, creepy electronics and nagging 303 lines on "Outar Acid", before laying down some typically blissful, atmospheric deep house on the wondrous "Qwazars". Flip for "Nodyahead", an effortless mixture of heavy dub-house bottom end, African-influenced percussion and moody late night refrains, and the ultra-deep, piano-laden bliss of "Aether".

Review: Che "Chesus" Ahmed dons the now familiar Ear Jeffers alias and returns to Ten Thousand Yen for the first time since 2016's well-received Gloria EP. A-side "Mysteries" is something of a spacey, synth-laden affair, with fuzzy analogue synth lines and fizzing electronics clustering around a restless, densely layered house groove. If Kraftwerk made deep house, it would probably sound like this. Ahmed takes a different approach on the flip, successfully peppering a chunky, redlined rhythm track with jazzy Rhodes motifs, jazz-funk flourishes and a cleverly manipulated vocal sample. Loose and languid but also tough as teak, it's arguably the more ear catching of the two tracks.

Review: Asa Moto duo Oliver Geerts and Gilles Noe impressed with last year's debut EP, the double A-side synth-pop delight that was "Stay Awake/Wanowan Efem". This follow-up for DeeWee, co-produced by label founders (and Soul Wax members) David and Stephen Dewaele, is every bit as impressive, even if its four tracks draw on a much wider palette of influences. Opener "System Naturae" wraps sharp, rave type stabs around a jaunty drum machine groove, deep melody flourishes and warped analogue bass, while "Make Me Prada" is an exercise in alien funk/ambient/synth-pop fusion. On the flip you'll find the bleep-laden analogue house thrust of "Athina", while closer "Syriacid" is a sweaty jog through acid-fired deep house pastures with wayward pop overtones.
