  1. Reach For Love (5:14)
  2. You've Got Me (5:16)
Review: This is Adam Wickens' - aka ADMIN - first appearance for Kolour LTD, and we're happy to see the UK deep house producer continuing his steady path to maturity. This two-tracker is part of the label's 'LTD 10s' series, and this particular one is the fourth instalment; we love it not only for the quality that has graced the releases up till now, but also because we're fools for the ten inch format. "Reach For Love" sounds like it could be on Moodymann's Mahogani, a sensual house charmer complete with gorgeous piano keys and assembled with pure hypnotic delight. Side B's "You've Got Me" is similarly cool and laid-back, but the beat is speedier here, the percussion more floor-centric and the vocals sexier than ever. What a gorgeous little tip - cop it!

  6. Omar (2:44)
Review: The Blind Jacks Journey label could be thought of as the UK's answer to Mood Hut or Rhythms of the Pacific; an imprint keen to promote the virtues of hazy "dream house". The North Yorkshire outfit sticks to the script here, serving up a mini-album of deliciously lazy, wide-eyed treats from previously unheralded producer Aleksandir. On the A-side you'll find the picturesque goodness of "Turtle Dance", the blissful ambient house warmth of "Turtle Nipper", and the melancholic jazz-house dreaminess of "Turtle Bay". Flip for the more exotic "Istanbul", the tropical synths and steel drums of "By The Beach", and the creepy downtempo jazz of "Omar".

  3. Legacy (5:03)
  4. Melted Chains (1:35)
Review: Armon 'Aybee' Bazile is undoubtedly one of electronic music's most consistent performers. He's barely put a foot wrong since making his debut in 2004, and continues to deliver high-grade material on a regular basis. Predictably, there's plenty to get excited about on this 12", too. "Man Over Machine" is a winding, constantly building gem, with rising and falling, spaced out melody loops riding an off-kilter techno rhythm. On the flip, you'll find the deep space chord progressions, delay-laden electronics and deep tech-house grooves of "Build Them (Solstice Mix)", the intricate pianos solos and Soichi Terada style deep house vibes of "Legacy", and the off-kilter deep house/IDM fusion of "Melted Chains".

Review: Originally released on Shelter Records way back in 1993, the Atmosphere EP from US house icon Kerri Chandler remains a great example of the New Jersey producer's sublime touch when it comes to driving instrumental house music. Some 22 years on, this new edition from Shelter demonstrates the qualities of Atmosphere remain undimmed, put simply the four tracks possess a certain energy that is undeniably timeless. If house music is a feeling, then cuts such as "Climax 2" and "Atmosphere 2" prove that emotion is that feeling. A classic 12" that any self respecting house DJ needs in their collection stat!

Review: As well as steering Stripped & Chewed, Garrett David has been holding down a residency at Chicago's Smart Bar for some time. On a roll following an appearance on Distant Hawaii, The Time finds the producer in fine fettle with a classic approach to deep house clearly born out of the city he calls home. "The Time" is a shimmying jam powered by crafty dub processing and a steady hand on the arrangement, while "Sea Shell" is a more passionate affair that swoons through key changes. The Night Sea Journey remix of "The Time" is a more brooding affair punctuated by synth accents for a deeper end result.

  3. Monday To Wednesday (6:48)
Review: More unearthed rarities by the Windy City legend Spencer Kincy courtesy of French label Cyclo with The Lost EP. On the A side, we've got the rolling "4321" which features some immaculate drum programming on a simple yet effective groove. On the flip, "Jungle Life" is dark, deep, tripped out.. techno, we'd say! Similar to experiments of the time by fellow Chicagoan Green Velvet; this one was mental! Finally, there's a moment of absolute deepness by the man in the form of the smooth and emotive "Monday To Wednesday". While there certainly are stories going around regarding what happened to Kincy, we'd urge you to focus less on the rumours and to enjoy his wonderful musical legacy instead. Timeless stuff!

Review: Genius Of Time and Running Back seems like such a perfect fit you wonder why the Swedish duo haven't graced Gerd Janson's label before now. It might be because Alexander Berg and Nils Krough aren't exactly the most prolific of duos when it comes to original material with only three EPs to their name since they inaugurated the Aniara project in such sublime fashion back in 2010. Fans of Genius of Time and John Talabot's DJ Kicks mix have added reason to engage in some vociferous rejoicing as the former's sublime offbeat number "Juno Jam" contribution to the latter release is centre stage on this 12". In addition to the A Side bliss of that Berg and Krough slip in two more percussive numbers on the flip which Running Back quite rightly point out would make "Joe Claussell proud".

Review: Steadily building up a prominent identity in the bustling minimal house and techno thoroughfare, The Untold Stories return with one of their signature various artist compilations to present some lesser known practitioners of the hypnotic groove. Jerome C gets a rugged angle on the swing to his beats on "An Intelligible Scrawl", while Volta Cab nods to a classic Tobias jam with "Street Knowledge". MD Wallholz's "Ein Bisschen Ruhe" is a shivering slice of experimental electro, and Jonas Sella brings an unhinged French flavour to proceedings, but truthfully every jam on this solidly packed release has its own distinct character that fits into the meandering tale the label is unfurling.

Review: Long celebrated as a hub for new producers to showcase their talents, CDR return to the releasing game in partnership with Dimensions Festival. Up and coming house heads K15 and FYI Chris reportedly invited Lismore and Ben Houghton to take part in this collaborative release, resulting in four tracks that wouldn't sound out of place soundtracking a balmy afternoon dance on the Adriatic Sea. Oozing quality and soul throughout, there's a distinctly laid back flavour to the house on offer across this release, although FYI Chris add a touch more bite with their grubby lo-fi synth lines on "Sugar".

Review: Having served for eight years as one of the most dependable outlets for deep, thought provoking house in the UK, Boe Recordings recently announced its plans to shut up shop, and it does so in style. Calling on regular artists as well as fresh talent, it's a perfect swansong that demonstrates just how much quality is to be found in the Boe back catalogue. Leif's "That Ice Cream Tune" is a hypnagogic slice of broken beat, while label boss Ben Boe gets into a dreamy 2-step state of mind. That's just the tip of the iceberg on this flawless double-pack from a label that will be sorely missed.

Review: The recording debut of a joint effort between Jordan Czamanski of Juju & Jordash and Ilya Ziblat Shay. These improvised sessions of psychedelic/freeform experimentalism will surely have you travelling without moving. Starting out with the woozy ambient drone of "Dayworld", you'll soon after be led into the exotic via "Track 2" until the wicked remix of "Dayworld" by Parisian I:Cube gets some funky and lo-slung dancefloor dynamic injected into it. Finally, the charmingly titled "Shit Bird" goes in for an avant-garde sound composition that's contemplative as much as it is riveting on this amazing four minute auditory journey you'll wish had lasted much longer.

  4. Tempelhof Kite (Kito Jempere remix)
Review: Hailing from Lithuanian capital Vilnius, Miskotom appears on Pleasure Unit for a debut appearance that should appeal to all lovers of delicate, pop flecked house with a smooth 80s veneer. The production is perfect for the mood of the music, with the dusty groove of the title track embellished with Eastern flute motifs and Larry Heard chords of the sweetest melancholy. "Downtown" meanwhile revels in slap bass finery, and "Tempelhof Kite" gets a rubbery Moog tone in the low end that offsets the woozy pads beautifully. Kito Jempere comes on board for a remix that dubs "Tempelhof Kite" down into a warm and sexy house cut of the highest order.

  1. So Wrong So Right! (7:59)
  2. Dutty (7:08)
  3. Brown Alley (5:09)
Review: UK house and breakdance master Mr G returns to the Warm Sounds imprint with his singular, pumping strain of pure house music. Both the label and the artist share a similar vision, and that is to make great dance music straight from the source; there's no cheap thrills here, no gimmicks and no reliance of passing trends, just quality and belief in one's own tastes. The A-side, "So Wrong So Right!" is deep, majestic but still carries enough swing to get the dance floor up and going, especially seeing as Mr G slides in his signature drum swing that we love so much. "Dutty", on the flip, is more UK in its selection of bass and samples, but nevertheless filled with that same Mr G charm, while "Brown Alley" gets the techno flow going, and ties off this excellent EP in the finest of styles. Another Warm Sounds bomb - recommended!

  4. Sky Train (Austin TX mix) (5:46)
Review: The latest installment of Alex Omar-Smith's Side-Trakx series - long an outlet for work that doesn't fit into his usual house/techno template - is a little different to its' predecessors. For starters, it features four versions of one track: Nite Jewel collaboration "Sky Train". The full-vocal original is something of a treat; a radio-friendly fusion of dreamy deep house sounds, picturesque vocals and a smooth but undulating, Herbie Hancock-influenced groove. The superb keys-work of local jazz pianist Ian Finkelstein comes to the fore on the hazier "Chattanooga TN" and "Finkell Avenue" versions (the latter an ambient treat), with the "Texas TN" mix moving further towards jazz-funk territory.

Review: Originally operating in the 80s industrial scene, Plus Instruments have recently found a new lease of life. (Emotional) Especial are just the kind of label to jump on such deviant club fare, and on this package "Love Is Enough" gets a variety of remixes that all embrace the groups seedy ambience. Richard Sen brings a muscular thrust to the track, while Khidja takes a more delicate approach. Luke Solomon meanwhile casts his years of experience in oddball house on his steady grooving version, and then Jamie Paton taps into the industrial vein to finish the package off in fine style.

Review: Having previously appeared on Roots Underground, Reekee kicks off Wrong Notes with yet more grooves that tap into the spirit of truly passionate soulful house. The aptly named Billy Love's vocals aim straight for the heart on "Love Is", with the original mix being especially moving with its lingering jazz chords, string licks and stuttering beat. The "Bluesy" mix has a more traditional deep house feel to it, while "Wurli Things" heads off into expressive Rhodes territory thanks to limber keys work from Jacopo Moschetto. For classically informed house music from the heart, look no further.

Review: Frankfurt's Smile For A While crew started their label as a vessel for the artists that weren't getting a platform elsewhere. Stoneage Kid is based in Berlin but shares the spirit of the label with his catchy pop sound. The title track is a vocal number that packs in a rich palette of tones, sounding fit for radio as much as the club, while "Fearless Heart" is a dancefloor jam through and through. Lauer drops a remix of "Into Depravity" that edges the original into a peak time mentality, while the EP finishes up with the introspective "Hang On To A Dream Rmx".

Review: Glasgow's always reliable Dixon Avenue Basement Jams return with homeboy Denis Sulta, who's enjoying a bit of attention of late due to his appearance on buddy Jackmaster's recent DJ Kicks mix on !k7. For Sulta Selects Vol 1: The Remaster, we have "AAS (Nite & Day mix)", a raw and stripped back house jam with thundering drums, moody vocal samples and one seriously grinding monosynth lead on top. On the flip, we've got the more soulful offering "AALAS" gets on with things featuring more cleverly sampled vocals supported by a lo-slung groove. Finally, the bangin' disco stu stylings of "Saturday Night" features a very familiar sample by Oliver Cheatham that's used quite cleverly, we must say.

Review: This time last year, the Blorp label was founded as an outlet for "dream music from outer space". Happily, there's plenty of that to be found on the imprint's third release, a compilation style E.P featuring contributions from four different artists. T Margos kicks things off with the Pete Namlook chords, rugged acid lines and fizzing, Detroit-inspired beats of "AA", before Doula travels further into deep space with the acid-flecked intelligent techno spaciousness of "It's All In Your Mind". Ray Kandinski expertly balances dreamy chords, hissing cymbals and broken techno rhythms on the quirky "Dirty Sneakers", before DJ Lucy makes merry with alien melodies, buzzing synthesizers and drowsy chords on the rhythmically loose and languid "Mike L".

  3. The Believer (4:17)
Review: Back in 2012, the collective talents of Dego, Kaidi Tatham, Mr Mensah and Matt Lord combined for a superb album on 2000Black. Last year saw the quartet reconvene in the studio for a 12" snappily titled Off The Christmas Card List (possibly named in homage to anyone calling their music broken beat) which was mooted as a precursor to a new LP! Another taster now arrives on 2000 Black in the shape of the Cascade 12", brandishing a triplet of toasty future boogie standards primed for dancefloor deployment. The warm Rhodes, shuffling percussion and occasional twisted FX of "The Inside Is The Outside" stand out, as does the sweet soul strut of "The Believer", though there is a reason the title track hogs the A-side. That reason? It's a delight!
