Reflexions (Aybee dub)
Reflexions (Aybee remix)
Slims
Review: Emerging in 2001, Aybee has spent more than a decade gathering respect from all corners of the electronic music scene. Releasing music under a wide range of monikers over the years, Aybee's versatility is genre defiant and seamless in its quality. Tsuba score a coup here, coaxing him to remix "Reflexions" from Ethyl & Huxley not once but twice. The dub mix plays with a lonesome but bad ass bass loop and organic hand claps - coupled with the electronic melody Aybee shows us that simplicity is key. His second remix gets deeper and warmer as stretched synths roll and elegant wind instruments flitter along the top line. On the B-Side we have Ethyl and Huxley's "Slims"; dark, evolving and intense, the track is strewn with eerie recordings, chopped shakers and a creeping and spooky bass roll.

Your Love (In A Jam)
Talkin Acid
Your Love (In A Jam) (Idjut Boys house version)
Your Love (In A Jam) (Idjut Boys acid version)
Review: Absurd Recordings maintain the standards laid down with the Tin Man & Donato Dozzy shaped brilliance of their first Acid Test release in premiering the sounds of Achterbahn D'amour. A new collaborative project between Iron Curtis and Edit Piafra, it sees the duo explore the jerked out stripped down end of the Chicago House spectrum with the sprawling stuttering acid twirl out of "Talking Acid" a definite highlight. On the flip the heroic Idjut Boys deliver two remixes of "Your Love" which hit the spot with H bomb aplomb. The guttural bass aesthetics of the spinal "Version House" proves to be a nice counterpart to the floating 303 brilliance of the "Version Acid". Free d/l code of all tracks included too!

The Devil's Eyes (Christopher Rau remix)
The Devil's Eyes (original)
The Devil's Eyes (Bleak's Bete Noire remix)
Review: Justin Drake from Peace Division teams up again with Canadian Tsuba artist Kevin Griffiths for some throwback jacking techno business on Fear Of Flying. "The Devil's Eye" begins in quite simple fashion, dropping dubbed stabs over a booming kick; it's when the driving warm bass hits that you're hooked. From here the duo etch out a mid 90s Schatrax jacking groove which locks in for the duration. Smallville's Christopher Rau and newcomer Bleak are called on to remix the track, with the former retaining the jacking beats though twisting them towards something approaching deep house, with some gloriously warm pads rising to the fore as the track progresses. In contrast Bleak reimagines the track as a dark stomp through the machinations of peak time techno punctuated by a reverberant rhythmic thrust akin to the tracks on his debut for Sudden Drop.

Miles Then McCoy
Miles Then McCoy (Agaric remix)
Review: Autoreply offshoot Stuga Musik picks up where it left off with another three tracks of deadly effective, club-friendly madness. Having held a residency at Berlin's legendary Bar 25 club and recording for high calibre labels such as District of Corruption, Thema and Little Helpers, Beaner is welcomed into the Stuga family. He serves up "Miles Then McCoy", a nine minute epic that effortlessly fuses tight linear drum programming with freeform sound design and loose instrumentals that thunder along towards an exciting climax. Patrik Skoog aka Agaric is undoubtedly one of Sweden's best loved techno exports - he's responsible for the world famous We Are series not to mention the fact that his "Who Made Up The Rules" on Ovum is currently holding Groove Magazine's esteemed #1 album chart slot. Here he re-works Beaner's track into a peak time, sub-driven sweaty dancefloor bomb. Taradise completes the package with smooth deep house vibes, lush vocals and infectious piano riffs. A diverse and solid release.

Blind Is The Wind (interlude)
Last Chance Saloon
Review: Trelik reach into their recent archives with a much needed repress of Whalesong, the label's 2011 debut from UK producer OCH. With a compulsive passion for the dying art of crate-digging combined with a love for modern synthesis techniques the now Sweden based OCH manages to put together a 12" that could easily be described as psychedelic Chicago. "Whalesong" is a pulsating floor work-out which references the US greats whilst building an emotive sub-aqua soundscape. "Blind is The Wind" follows with a sneaky chord driven spoken interlude which creates an air of tension before climaxing into "Last Chance Saloon".
