DJs Shepdog & Kombine present a night dedicated to the wonderful world of 45s, be it funk, hip hop, reggae, soul, disco, pop, electro, jazz or spoken word.
Despite technology running away at an alarming rate, we prefer to embrace not the compact or downloadable, but small discs that fit in shoe boxes and large pockets. Shunning new-fangled developments such as cassettes, LPs, CDs and something they're calling MP3, the night aims to give light to the forgotten gems of our youth alongside modern classics still pressed on good old 45.
Recently described as "Reeves and Mortimer meets Afrika Bambaataa" the night typically encapsulates a wide range of genres as the only real music policy is that it fits on 7" of vinyl (or reluctantly, Styrene).
From early nights at the Vibe bar, the two can now be found propping up the decks at The Big Chill Bar, as well as support slots for live shows around the city.
