| A crazy mixed bag, top of the heap is the Sofrito compilation, i always play at least 3 or 4 tracks at every gig. Next up is the amazing Virgo Four compilation featuring mostly unreleased music from the seminal Chicago house outfit. At number 3 is the ace Hizatron, flipped with my new wiggly, bass heavy remix. The Eddie Hooper track has been around for a few months now, but I never tire of it's haunting beauty. Headhunter is one of my favourite producers, and his new AG 12" doesn't disappoint. No. 6 is a 12" from the Sofrito comp, so nice to have this kind of tropical dancefloor music on a fat 12". 7 & 8 see Soundway taking care of some heavy, heavy latin business, as only they can! At 9, Kerri Chandler does a lovely job on his remix of Makam, simple & effective with some squidgy synth creeping into the mix. The Royalty EP at number 10 has really caught my ear, like a more bass heavy, less retro Dam Funk. The Sugar Minott tune at 11 is great, heavy digi roots with real bass guitar, and the dub is astounding. I have been playing Pangaea's 'Won't Hurt', love the intro & drop, individual & quality as we have come to expect from Hessle Audio. The b side wins again with the next selection too, Baobinga & Hyetal getting all skippy & spacey on 'Trouble'. Boddika's House 10" has been around for 5 months now, and the Syn Chron tune still gets me, sounds like the kind of tune that a studio full of insects would make. The prolific PPU label are up next with the Michael Soward 7", more early 80's drum machine soul/boogie business, the kind of stuff I grew up on & still love today. The new Wagon Christ LP is on Ninja Tune, and his mixture of humour & originality is still very much intact!
