REGGAE ROAST EVENTS
Reggae Roast has been running since 2007 and has steadily built up a reputation as being the most vibrant Reggae event in the capital. Recently Reggae Roast have been in high demand, playing at clubs across the UK, spreading their message of conscious roots music and positive vibes. Over the past 4 years Reggae Roast have hosted some of the biggest names in the business, including: Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Collie Buddz, Sly & Robbie, Finley Quaye, Mad Professor, David Rodigan, Suggs (Madness), Aba Shanti-I, Mungo’s Hifi, Channel One Sound System, Iration Steppas and Adrian Sherwood.
Founders Exel & Moodie have worked with some of London’s best venues, including co-promotion events with Fabric & The Jazz Cafe and residencies at Scala and The Big Chill House. Reggae Roast currently has a monthly residency at The City Arts & Music Project Basement (The CAMP). Each month resident DJs & MCs are joined by a range of emerging and established artists, providing a sound a vibe un-matched by any other London club session.
The last 12 months have been a roller coaster ride for Exel & Moodie, with a guest show on David Rodigan’s Kiss 100fm broadcast and DJ bookings across Europe, including heaving festival appearances at Glastonbury, Big Chill and Bestival. The vibe at Reggae Roast is always uplifting, with the freshest mix of Roots, Dub, Steppers and Dubstep.

Reggae Roast Records was founded in 2009, building on the strength of the events and establishing the label at the forefront of the UK Roots scene. With a steady release schedule featuring artists such as Ghetto Priest, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Brother Culture and The Hempolics, plus remixes by the like of Rob Smith (RSD), Rack N Ruin, Richie Phoe and Dark Arx.
