Drum And Bass
  1. Bristol Bombay (5:05)

  3. Beautiful Suicide (feat Sense) (4:57)
  4. Bulldog (5:14)
Review: Netherlands meets Belgium: Nymfo & Phase crash into each head-on with insanely beautiful results. If the swooning synths on the breakdown of "Bristol Bombay" don't turn you into a massive goosebump then you need your senses rewired. Likewise, "Duvel" guarantees wasp-chewing bass faces of the ugliest order with its pranged out mentasms, "Beautiful Suicide" hammers with such weight and pressure it could crush tungsten and "Bulldog" wraps up the session with a heads-down fuzzy groove that's restrained-yet-raw in classic Dispatch style.

Techno
  1. Submerged Metropolitan (6:20)
  2. Fallen Columns (4:40)
  3. This Absent Mind (5:14)
Review: Peak time techno expert Ashley Burchett returns with more hard hitting and functional DJ tools for Belgian imprint Token. "Submerged Metropolitan" is exactly the kind of furious and tunnelling hypnotism that you can expect to hear him thrash out at places like Berlin's Berghain on the regular, with its steely patterns and entrancing loops. "Falling Columns" is perhaps the most sensitive and introverted piece of work we've heard from Burchett yet and a welcome change with its lower tempo and seductive atmospherics providing some great mood lighting for warm up sets. Finally "This Absent Mind" gets back to the program on this tough, stripped back and cyclical exercise, that just begs to be combined with other patterns or tools; those dubby chords ease in gradually lending a greta touch.

Drum And Bass
  1. A Different Space (4:59)
  2. Sunrise Technology (6:51)
Review: Young Belgian Phase makes his Warm Comms debut with three tracks that belie his 20 years on the planet... "A Different Space" takes you back to early Critical cuts thanks to its uptempo step arrangement, two note drone bass and timestretched amens on the fills. "Sunrise Technology" takes a Klute-strength telescope to see further into the cosmos while "Eternal Truth" brings us back to planet earth with a dreamier melodic structure, cymbal-splashing jungle breaks and a sub that bounces harder than a politician's promises. Serious heat for a new producer.

  9. Shadow Caster
  10. Self Deceit
Review: Over the course of the eight tracks to appear on Frames Of Reference, the long-time coming debut album by O [Phase], the Englishman draws upon ideas he's been fine tuning for more than a decade. Of the fresh material is the rich bass and sinister crawl of "On The Edge", the haunted glass whistles of "Dirtro II" and the respective electro and dubby leaning "Just Another Dance" and "Shadow Caster". Rearranged riffs come via the LP's opening track "Binary Opposition (process 3)" which sets the tone for a heady mix of no frills techno undeniably designed for club play. It's an impressive debut which incorporates elements of muscular European rhythmics with passages of motor city mechanics and melodic tonality.
