Techno
  1. Floating
  2. Broken Boiler
  3. Upside In
Review: For their fourth transmission, Happy Skull presents a trio of dystopian fantasies from analogue maverick Marco Bernardi. Opener 'Floating' is a throbbing trip in to rattling techno territory complete with discordant chords and bubbling acid lines. 'Broken Boiler' offers a trademark Bernardi fusion of sweet, visceral melodies and raw machine drums. Rounding things off is 'upside In', a fearlessly wonky voyage in to freaky techno-funk.

Techno
  1. Spacejam
  2. No I Didn't
  3. Oist Mal
Review: Klasse Wrecks welcomes Bristol-based Marco Bernardi to its ranks following strong releases for Clone, Delsin, Rawax, Planet E, and most recently the Kelly Twins' Happy Skull label. Spacejam provides an EP of demented drums, fiddling electronics and refreshing originality, showcasing the signature sound of the studio-obsessed Scottish born DJ and producer. His idiosyncratic style runs through the three tracks here, from the space jack and Green Velvet-inspired vocals of the title track, through the rubbery funk of "No I Didn't" and frenetic acid of "Oist Mal".

  1. Interfusion
  2. Demonia
  3. Never Ending Similarities
Review: In addition to his role curating some killer anonymous tackle on the fledgling Take The Elevator label, Bristol based producer Marco Bernardi has been keeping up a envious rate of production output with this debut slab for Harbour City Sorrow a third release of the year thus far. Already a regular contributor to parent label Frustrated Funk, Bernardi brings a similar level of hardware driven emotion to Never Ending Similarities, with a warmth and intricacy to both lead track "Interfusion Biamp" and the title cut that few can match. Bernardi completists will reveal in the presence of "Demonia" on vinyl for the first time, having first been released on the digital version of Switches, Drawers and Washing Machines, his 2009 album for Frustrated Funk.

  3. Finite Space (6:20)
  4. The Hater Of Love (5:51)
Review: Given the prolific nature of his output and close links to Jamal Moss, it's something of a surprise to find that Motionless is Marco Bernadi's first outing on Mathematics. It sees the Bristol-based Glaswegian in suitably nostalgic mode, dropping a quartet of tracks that pop and crackle with vintage analogue rhythms, raw electronics, and intoxicated acid lines. The A-side boasts two chunks of electro/techno fusion, with the vintage rave stabs, relentless drum hits and barely audible vocal samples of "Shiny Windows" most impressing. Flip for the skittering rave breakbeats, foreboding chords and undulating acid lines of "Finite Space", and "Hater of Love", a sparkling fusion of sharp electronics, bubbling acid bass and foreboding, anti-fun vocals.

Review: Scottish producer Marco Bernardi has been at it a while and is known for his consistent run of emotive techno releases. Now living in Bristol, he presents us with "Spoken Word With Lie" on Brokntoys out of London, and keeps on with his amazing vision. The title track is a nice little acid number with creepy vocals. While "Magic Night" is quality electro on the Drexciyan tip. On the flip "Catching Clouds In Outer Space" is totally sublime soulful techno reminiscent of early John Beltran and the real highlight on here.

  1. The Dancing Clowns (15:34)
  2. The Dancing Clowns (Specter remix) (9:04)
Review: Scottish techno legend (now based in Bristol) Marco Bernardi has had a consistent run of great releases recently and this one certainly does not disappoint. His latest release is a label debut for Berceuse Heroique with "The Dancing Clowns" a soulful and melancholic epic that proudly wears its Motor City influence on its sleeve, but it still unmistakeably Bernardi. The remix on the flip by Andres Ordonez aka Specter is equally as brilliant, but deeper and more atmospheric with its sombre pads and sublime melody given the right amount of momentum by that sharp and buzzing bassline.
