  3. Except In Dreams (5:27)
Review: When Blueprint announced they had some special releases lined up to celebrate their 20th anniversary, hardcore fans of the British techno label will surely have hoped this would include some new O/V/R material from Ruskin and Regis. Such dreams have been granted as the pair deliver this three-track salvo of focused, tunnelling and pummelling techno. "Easy Prey" finds Regis and Ruskin on top of their game, slowly crafting a cacophony of looped techno that will sound deadly on the right system. Complementing this, "Everyday Impulse" squares down some mind-bending loops over a more restrained rhythmic patter with "Except In Dreams" offering an alternate take.

  4. Take Control (4:57)
Review: Originally released in 2002 on his Blueprint label, James Ruskin's Conspiracy EP is considered by many as one of his finest releases and a seminal one considering its early naughties aesthetic of rhythmic/semi-tribal DJ tools. Starting out with the relentless and forceful cyclicality of "After Dark" which features his trademark immaculate drum programming, there's more raw power on display on "Take Control". This one is more stripped down and uses a broken beat but is classic Ruskin all the same. Close associate Anthony Child aka Surgeon steps up to remix it; his version retains the broken beat as he was an expert at using them too but injects more ferocity and violence into it, allowing the track to crunch and glitch at random much like his work on the recently released Force & Form album at the time.
