Techno
  1. Barker & Baumecker - "Love Is A Battlefield" (10:06)
  2. Atom TM - "Stromlinien" (5:51)
  3. Anthony Parasole - "Heartbeat" (5:19)
Review: The Ostgut Ton Zehn 12" series continues apace and lands on edition Sechs, which packs a triple trouble punch from Messrs Barker & Baumecker, Atom TM and Anthony MF Parasole! Responsible for one of our favourite Ostgut artist albums, Sam Barker and Andy Baumecker kick things off with their first original production in some time and the brittle, unpredictable hardcore manifestation "Love Is A Battlefield" has us hoping the pair will return with something more substantial soon. Ten minutes of ethereal techno at it's finest! On the flip, Atom TM takes it down a stripped back and dubby route with "Stromlinien" whilst The Corner don Parasole lays waste to the dancefloor with the reverberant elasticity of "Heartbeat".

Bloodlines (12")
Cat: COR 10. Rel: 22 Dec 14
Techno
  1. Marcel Dettmann - "Take One"
  2. Silent Servant - "Mechanics Of Emotion"
  3. Anthony Parasole - "Intel"
Review: It's fair to say any 12" featuring these three artists will be on the 'must check pronto' list of any self respecting techno fan and Bloodlines fully delivers on the sense of expectation. And then some! Dettmann pulls rank and fills the A-side with "Take On", a pulsing exercise in techno nastiness that positively pulses with dancefloor energy, all of which is underpinned by a tongue in cheek robotic vocal that seems perfectly in line with The Corner's humour. Silent Servant follows with "Mechanics Of Emotion", a track that is a fine example of the dark brand of sonics Juan Mendez has been cooking in Los Angeles of late. It begins in a manner that's every bit as direct and effective as Dettmann's contribution, but as the track progresses a different mood gradually comes into focus, resulting in a perfect track to transition a set from intensity to somewhere else. Parasole closes proceedings with "Intel", a neat little journey down the wormhole of alien techno which veers into garbled abstraction without missing a beat.
