Review: Sydney production unit Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell have served their time as Flight Facilities, serving up numerous feel good singles and remixes for the Hype Machine since they first emerged back in 2010 on Bang Gang. Now fully fledged members of the Future Classic cause, Gruzman and Lyell get the opportunity to explore the Flight Facilities sound more extensively with their debut album Down To Earth. It's a worthy title too, as there's a lack of pretence to these fourteen tracks, with the instrumental work from Flight Facilities geared to giving the contributing vocalists the spotlight. The Stee Downes featuring "Hold Me Down" and Owl Eyes collab "Heart Attack" are both highlights and offer some hint at the sonic diversity covered within.

  3. Toby Tobias - "Trigger Output" (7:19)
  4. Additional Hardware - "Resistors & Capacitors" (5:54)
Review: In Flangranti's latest project is an interesting one. It features them, and others, creating new tracks from elements of previously unheard recordings by obscure 1980s Swiss outfit Schaltkreis Wasserman, most of which were apparently made under the influence of LSD. The resulting tracks do a good job in putting the cosmic synthesizer refrains and vintage electronics in a new light. For example, Toby Tobias's druggy "Trigger Output" skillfully combines a vintage breakbeat hardcore rhythm and with decidedly psychedelic electronics, while Vahagn's "Voltage Controle" is a sparkling chunk of stylish Italo-disco. Also worth checking is the chugging, arpeggio-driven synthesizer exotica of Additional Hardware's "Resistors & Capacitors", and the intense percussive madness of In Flagranti's "Side Strain".

Review: Multitrack wizard The Reflex returns for his second release on Revision Records with two more killer edits. He tackles Marvin Gaye's classic "Gotta Give It Up" giving it the perfect modern revision for modern dancefloors, pretty damn brilliant if we do say so ourselves. On the B side he lends his Midas touch to Serge Gainsbourg's infamous "Sea, Sex & Sun" allegedly three years in the making, this dirty disco funk nugget includes vocals from both the English and French versions. Exclusive to vinyl and previously unreleased, get your hands on this one before you miss your chance as pressings are limited.

Review: Soundtrack reissues specialists Death Waltz finally deliver what everyone has been waiting for; a newly remastered edition of Angelo Badalamenti's timeless score for Twin Peaks. A project that was first announced back in 2014, Death Waltz have really put the work in here on this double LP presentation. Seeking out engineer Tal Miller to remaster the score, getting the approval of David Lynch on the artwork, sleeve notes from Badalamenti and of course the music itself pressed up on "damn fine coffee" coloured vinyl. Musically speaking, do we really need to describe what is a classic selection of compositions from the American? Both the foreboding "Twin Peaks Theme" and somewhat more soothing "Laura Palmer's Theme" should be singed on the cerebral cortex of any self-respecting fan of culture.

Review: New York City's Most Excellent are back with some of the first ever music put to wax by one the label owner's closest friend, Cesar Toribio. They say it best themselves when they tell us that the music "is honest, vulnerable, and exposes parts of his personality that even those who are fortunate to know him." The Brooklynite by way of Tampa, Florida, is an alumni of Berklee's School of Music and recorded "My Dear" in his college dorm room in 2011. "Esa MontaNa se Movera" was great, but that reinterpretation by none other than Joaquin "Joe" Claussell (Sacred Rhythm: a hero of Cesar's) on the flip, has exactly the kind of life affirming vibes on the dancefloor you could expect at his Body & Soul NYC residency. Second track "Respire" was the real joy on here, reminiscent of classic Ron Trent in all its emotive and sensual glory. Mixed by Phil Moffa.

Review: Italian singer and songwriter Giampiero Scalamonga had a successful run as a disco hitmaker through the 70s, and his crowning glory was surely the Body To Body LP released in 1979. Now Best Records have turned back the clock to disco's golden hour to reissue the Gepy & Gepy classic on pristine wax. While the A-side title track is a timeless gem on its own, it's the impassioned club burner "African Love Song" that will have the diggers rejoicing. From its days as a staple in Studio 54 it's been a sought after gem, and now it's back in circulation for those that know.

Review: The Best Records reissue campaign continues unabated as the Italian label turns to Bariocentro. While the band may have had most of their time in the spotlight in the late 70s, they bowed out with a veritable bomb in the shape of Tittle Tattle, a tightly-wound, punchy slice of uptempo 80s boogie like they just can't make any more. Feel the reverb on the handclaps, the slick guitar chops and Moog-tastic bassline and just try not getting down. This plush reissue comes packed with the radio edit, the full length version, the instrumental and everyone's favourite slice of 80s B side action, the dub mix.

Review: We can think of a fair few disco diggers who will be more than a little annoyed by this re-issue. Originally released on the obscure La Shawn label back in 1980, "Take Me I'm Yours" is widely considered to be one of Patrick Adams' best productions. It's certainly something of a dusty gem, with Mary Clark's soulful, country-tinged vocals simply soaring over a reggae-tinged, string-drenched disco groove. It would have been nice to have seen original flipside "You Got Your Hold On Me" included, but it's not a major issue; given the in-demand (and hard-to-find) nature of the A-side, we should be pleased it's come back round again.

Review: Naturally, the Mork labels swaps and borrows artists from its parent label, Lobster Theremin, but this shouldn't take away the fact that the imprint very much focusses on its own quality of techno. Unlike LT, Mork has a much darker, techno-laden approach to club music, and Royer seems like the perfect associate to make the jump into the shadows. "Classe2 (Simple Version)" opens the doors to a moody yet noticeably soulful assortment of pads and grainy house rhythms, which fall elegantly into the even more lo-fi landscapes of "D'orr22". On the flip, the latter tune receives a sun-kissed, 'Sunday Lit Refaax' version, adding yet more analogue mystique to the original cut, which leaves "Healyrslfw Lee" to take a trip down greener pastures, and what we like to call 'beach house' vibes. Lovely stuff.

Review: Terrence Dixon first donned the Population One alias for Metroplex two decades ago, and has been a semi-regular contributor to Juan Aktkins' label ever since. Detroit City At Night finds him in fine form, delivering tracks that blend traditional Motor City techno tropes - hissing hi-hats, spacey electronics, and futurist intent - with warmer keys and organ stabs. Naturally, it feels like a classic Metroplex release, with cuts such as "Going In Circles" - built around spacey melody patterns and swirling, sci-fi textures - and "Down The Lodge" ticking all the right boxes. Best of all, though, is closer "Detroit City At Night", an atmospheric combination of gritty Motor City field recordings and dark, Italo-influenced techno grooves.

  17. Reach One (With Two Fender Rhodes) (1973) (16:46)
Review: Up until Peter Gordon's recent revival, excerpts from Arthur Russell's 1975 composition Instrumentals - inspired by his studies of Indian and western music while in San Francisco a few years previously - had only ever been performed in public on a handful of occasions. While this may have partly been due to the Russell's desire for it to be performed in a single 48-hour cycle, it has meant that the few recordings that do exist have remained hidden for decades. This superb double album gathers together those excerpts, recorded between 1974 and 78 in New York, alongside recordings of two other early Russell works. Musically, it's as strange, imaginative and touching as you'd expect, with Instrumentals variously fusing pastoral classical music, Indian mysticism, and (then) contemporary Americana.

Review: France's Varhat is back after some great tracks on Crocus and Aku but who can forget that killer edit of Stablo he did last year. This guy's is on a roll and one to watch, which says a lot considering the amount of talent coming of Paris at the moment. This time it's for Ukranian wunderkind Mulen's imprint and it's a as deep and as rolling as you'd expect. The whole EP is great as a whole but really shines on "Track 2 " with its pitched down acid bassline and those sweet immersive pads. "Track 3" is properly deep with its smooth bassline, tight rhythm and those swirling and hypnotic synths working a treat.

Review: Ready for a strange soul sensation? Say hello to Henry Wu. After a smattering of outings on 22a and XVI, the Londoner jumps aboard Ho Tep with his first extensive extended document. "Don't Want The Regular" is a hazy twist on slo-mo broken beat, all dreamy and just the right amount of abstract. "Expensive Ghetto" takes the abstract even further with a jazz trumpet that wanders so free it's nearly off the page. "Black Rigsby" is more floor-focused as it looks towards the likes of Detroit with strange filtered synth wriggles and spacy overtones, "Just Negotiate" sits somewhere between Andrew Ashong and Amp Fiddler with its yearning lyrics and hugely enveloping synths and finally "Joint September" closes the show on a reflective jazzy note. Dreamy.

Review: **REPRESS ALERT** Chicago's The Nite Owl Diner originally released "Stay" by local heroine The Black Madonna back in 2014 to much fanfare. A wonderful edit geared for some life affirming moments on late night dancefloors that was no doubt honed by the artist's (known to her Dad as Marea Stamper) skills behind the decks for several years at Windy City institution Smart Bar. On the flip there's the even funkier and discofied "Venus Requiem" full of neon-lit synths and cracking Linn drums; there's an odd familiarity throughout as it builds and builds.. and drops right at that moment to set the dancefloor alight again. It's just one of 'those' kind of tracks and here's your chance to snap up another copy of this remastered gem before it flies off the shelf again.

Review: Pole Jam Vinyl - a wax-only collaboration between Satin Jackets' Glam Jam Artists and Welsh outfit Pole Position Recordings - is always a reliable source of club-ready nu-disco fare. There's naturally much to admire on the label's latest multi-artist EP. Pioneerball kicks things off with the cheery and musically expansive "Deltaplane" - all flailing slap bass, delay-laden hits, sparkling electronics and sharp strings - before Falqo steps up with a chunk of boogie-influenced blue-eyed soul (the deliciously positive "Across The Sea"). On the flip you'll find the pitched down, Balearic minded dub disco of Sasha Anastov's "Sea For Two", and the near horizontal soul smoothness of Gayana's "Since The Night (Klar&PF Mix)".

Whoever DJ Club 1235 is, they known how to make a no-nonsense hardware house jam, and "Constant" that leads this record is just that. Straight up gnarly bleeps over a basic stomping beat - sometimes that's all that you need to make a club wrecker. "Trust" is also a particular treat with its slightly more developed lead line and urgent drums, but don't overlook the shorter interlude tracks that make this an EP with many different shades of jack to it.

Review: Berlin based house hero Shir Khan serves up another volume in his acclaimed Black Jukebox series and we're already up to volume seventeen which is mighty impressive! On this edition we have Martin Lewis, who despite his name is actually a German dude who has released on labels like Freebase, Holic Trax and his own Profound imprint: which he founded back in 2008. He looks after things groove-wise on the A side with the funky and lo-slung hip-hop inspired deepness (dopeness!) of "Lifted" while "Feel Good" is a nice and reliable slo-mo disco edit which might sound familiar to some of you. On the flip is self described 'medicine man with shamanic powers' Aussteiger with the tough, dusted down and absolutely rolling deep house jam "Taperock" which will appeal to fans of the Robsoul Recordings sound while "Baracoa" offers up more of the same and the hypnotic melody it has happening throughout is pure magic.

  2. Dana Ruh & Nvelope - "Flowers" (Laurine Frost remix) (7:32)
  3. Danilo Schneider - "L'ecole" (Buck remix) (6:29)
Review: England's Anthea and Berlin's Dana Ruh teamed up 10 years back for their joint venture Brouqade which is has made a name for itself with its trademark style of grooves: swinging, rolling, deep and hypnotic: always! With previous releases by artists as diverse as Alex Celler, Vid and Oshana, they're back with an EP that gets some more of the label's mainstays repping for them in fine form and in the process presenting some interesting takes on the back catalogue. Starting out in impressive fashion with one of the kings of Romanian minimal: Rhadoo, serving up a particularly trippy and trance inducing remix of Pherox's "Gabrielle", label boss Ruh teams up with Nvelope for "Flowers" (originally from 2008) which gets a stellar makeover by All Inn Records head honcho Laurine Frost. On the flip we should also mention Puglian tech house hero Buck's absolutely wicked take on Danilo Schneider's "L'ecole" from 2011.

  3. Flord King - "Steff Off" (9:02)
  4. Adam Stromstedt - "HM 2016" (5:05)
Review: Mohammed Al Harbiti, Adam Stromstedt and Flord King's Lyssna Records is now on its third release, and the label is beginning to pick up jus the right sort of momentum to make a impact on the vast, bottomless pit that is the deep house scene. What you need to be able to do that is plenty of style and a fresh way of constructing 4/4 patterns, something which Levi Verspeek has clearly nailed on the opening "256". Peshka's "Miracle" is also refreshingly off-kilter, meandering its loose drums over a hazy bed of washed-up sonics, while Flord King's "Steff Off" uses the minimal formula to deliver its mesmerising glow, and Adam Stromstedt's "HM 2016" is probably the best example of traditional deep house that we've heard since the close of that treacherous 2016. Quality house escapades...

Review: Catch these limited gold vinyls and take a big bite of history while you're at it as Dom rolls out a series of some of his most sought after dub plates from golden era. We rewind to 97 for these, both made with Headz in mind and hammered by the biggest names at Blue Note, they speak for themselves; "Aliens" is a brutally dense weave of alien textures and tones while "Zodiac" licks with a little more toxic funk in the bass and sharpness on the chiselled two-step. You can literally feel the heritage heaviness as it pours from your speakers.

Review: Waxwork mark the 35th anniversary of John Carpenter's cult movie The Thing in true style. One of the first films Carpenter didn't score himself, he recruited one of the only composers who could fill his shoes... The truly legendary Ennio Morricone. Minimal, orchestral and sprung with all the necessary tension, suspense and thrill, it was the perfect complement to Carpenter's dark canvas. But then you knew that anyway. A luxury package with book, coloured vinyl and poster this is an incredible document for serious collectors.

  3. Will Buck & PRTMNTO - "I Need Your Love" (6:40)
  4. Vagabundo Club Social - "Sonico Amor" (7:41)
Review: Perhaps we should think of Whiskey Disco's Small Batch series as their attempt at "artisan disco". Certainly, the re-edits on show should have a few hipsters - and plenty of disco DJs - stroking their hirsute chins in appreciation. Dubtribe Soundsystem's Sunshine Jones kicks things off with the mid-80s synth-pop-goes-acid-house brilliance of "Lovergirl", while regular collaborators Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee doff a cap to Sly & Robbie and Larry Levan on the dub disco vibes of "Love Me Too". Those after some high tempo jazz-funk-meets-disco-house thrills should check Will Buck and PRTMNTO's "I Need Your Love". As for Vagabundo Club Social's "Sonico Armor", it's a hazy, dub-flecked Balearic disco delight.

Review: The Excursions crew have prepped another solid release right here, a bunch of glorious Turkish funk edits by the mysterious Halal Cool J. We love the name and all, but it's the cuts that we're vibing too, especially seeing as we're big into our 70s Turkish culture here at Juno HQ; just take a look at our charts and you'll find everyone from Baris Manco, to Erkin Koray and Erkut Tackin. From "Visne Nektari" to "Fenerbache Heat", you'll be glad to know that gear is 100% club-proof and utterly in line with the quality of that 70s material... it just has a little more oomph to its beats now.

Review: UK IDM duo Steve Rutter and Michael Golding aka B12 continue on with their new found winning streak and another brilliant release on their FireScope imprint. "In Vain" features Yonii's sultry vocals accompanied a minimal and bass heavy arrangement that calls to mind the 'grey area' experiments by the Autonomic crew several years back while also on the A side we've got the lush dark ambient journey "Shotgun" which perfect compliments the vibe of this vocalist's truly amazing vocal range. On the flip "Sympathy Beatz" deconstructs UK bass music with subtle pop-inflections much like dBridge did some time ago on this catchy number while "Moth Beatz" distills the A side track into its essence brilliantly.

  5. VGAV - "Untitled" (4:28)
Review: On just their second release the Micronesia crew are already proving themselves to be impeccable selectors when it comes to curating their various artist gatherings. Ulithi opens in a gloriously serene funk courtesy of LK, who pushes deep house right to the edge of consciousness with "Untitled". Shanahan & Lynch rise to the challenge and head even further out into ambient pastures with the ethereal pulse of "Ask", before Duijn & Douglas whip up a hypnotic cycle of chords and rhythms for the deep end of the night. Omar Santis and VGAV maintain the mellow disposition of the record perfectly, leaving you with five fresh, thoughtful variations on gentle house and techno.

Review: More rusty, dusted down analogue techno shenanigans courtesy of Lux Rec diffusion label MRT, following up great releases by Mitchell Goor and A Bleak Reality. This time its over to Bjorn Magnusson aka Steinzeit who delivers the tough, mid range techno tool "Wahrheit #1" which is a great record to make transitions with. Next up is the rich and chunky electro soul of "Wahrheit #2" which will appeal to Dopplereffekt fans. Finally on the flip there's the slow acid techno of "Wahrheit #3" which sounds just as good on +8 if you really want to push the crowd, sounding like Hawtin circa '93 at the Packard Plant. Definite Plus 8 vibe on this one, we were really digging it!

Review: Mistry enter album mode with a remarkable body of work from Kailin. A quantum leap from the floors the label has been denting, Kailin explores the post-club environment with dense weaves of textures and ghostlike vapours. Ambient in its nature yet spiked with fractured club echoes, it's an ultimately physical affair best experienced being as unphysical as possible. Highlights include the throbbing mechanical palpitations of "Chatter", the clunky glitches and alien designs of "Fracture" and the warped trickles and blurred cascades of "Disintegration". An intense move by all concerned.

Review: Both Camelia and the SPORTS label step into the light for the first time with an ambitious double-pack release that promises much for the future. "Praxis" is a stunning ambient piece that opens the record with glacial drones and subtle ripples of percussive sound before "Syntax" locks things down to a crisp minimal house groove laced with eerie atmospherics. Mihai Poi meanwhile goes to town on a long form remix on the B side, turning "Syntax" into a warm and playful thing. Camelia does her own lengthy turn with the title track on Side C, and then Sublee drops a snappy electro version as the finishing move on Side D.

Anti-static carbon fibre record cleaning brush
Notes: Drain the static charge from your records and lift any residual dust and grime with the anti-static vinyl brush.
The conductivity of the brush's carbon fibre bristles eliminates static charges while gently and efficiently removing the dust, grit and particles that bung up your vinyl's grooves and degrade your record's sound.
The conductive carbon fibres reach deep into the grooves of your vinyl to remove even the smallest particles, leaving your records clean while prolonging the life of vinyl and stylus.

- Hand-made carbon hair brush for removing dust from vinyl records
- The brush makes the record antistatic so it does not attract dust
- For those who care for their collection of vintage or brand new vinyl records
- Can also be used for Schellack records
